Will it detect Silver Stars and Air Medals, or just Purple Hearts?

I don't know him and I hope this was something that can be rectified in a positive way but there is also the chance that he was close to the end of his rope with the "nasty" divorce and maybe was considering something horrible. If that was the case then thank god it was found. Again, I am not saying I think this is the case but I am saying it is a possibility. How many times do you here after a murder/suicide "He was such a great guy, I can't believe he could do that." You never know. Lots of times it is who you least expect.

You're really going there? As stated before, the guy left his base, where crew members aren't screened, then waited until his overnight in BUF (where they are extremely vigilant) to execute his plan. Get real. Hell, BUF is only second to BTV for screaners for upholding the absolute letter of the law.
