Upgrade times XJT RAH

Anyone know if the junior captain new hire dates posted on the airline pages are close for these two?

goaround2000 06-01-2012 07:00 PM

For the XJT side (not the asa side) it's September 06. Right below the 6 year mark.

I think RAH is around Feb 1 of 2007. However, they hired about 1,000 in 2007, so it is going to be a LOOOOONG time getting to 2008.

Rogah thanks

Rah, new bid just went to 3/2007 for the 145. With the new Q400, likely to go to 5/07 or so.

DEN for the Q. 20 upgrades so far for the initial few airframes and 130+ to follow. Should get to about June 2007 when all the Q left seats are filled.

slumav505 06-02-2012 02:28 AM

I'm a 2008 and after the q bid ill be roughly 320-340 away. It all depends how many Midwest guys come back now that mke is gone.

blastoff 06-02-2012 08:27 AM

Keep in mind, XJT didn't hire from 2008-2011, so once the Dec 2007 classes upgrade, and then upgrade goes to Jan 2011 hires, Upgrade times will drop by 3 years.

And when they take over the Eagle ERJ times will drop even more, or when the list combine and United and Delta start parking airplanes things will come to a sreatching hault!!! It's a crap shoot, but hope things go well for both places!

They've all been recalled.

CMH and CLE. I believe SDF is right in there too.

True, but not all of them have accepted recall. There are still about 36 that still have recall rights that haven't taken recall. Expect more of them to drop off the list as hiring continues through the rest of the year.

Considering the global economic slowdown taking place in China, India, Australia, Europe, and now the US, I'm beginning to wonder if looking out more than three months is being too optimistic. If Greece buckles and takes down Spain with it, this Fall could look like the Fall of 2008.

The party is coming to an end on a much bigger scale then we have seen. Scary stuff.

Sadly, I'm very worried you are right. Just reading the WSJ these days makes me want to drink Drano.

I wonder how much capacity is left to cut? The cutbacks from 2008-2009 were so drastic and not much capacity has been added back.

If there really is going to be movement due to forced retirements, airlines MIGHT fare better this time around than they did last time.

I wouldn't want to be a pilot for Iberia though.

And that will be 5+ years from now, lol.

Ya no kidding. Nobody has a crystal ball. But you still gotta do the math to assess the situation.
