it seems like with the current and near future movement at SKW, an fo in the EMB could go to just about any base out of training with less than a 3 or 4 month wait. Would you agree experimental?

The only problem there is two training events - but that's a whole helluva lot better than commuting haha...

I live about 20 minutes from SMF, I think if given the choice, I would ride the "Bro" out of SMF and wait until I could upgrade there, if that were possible. I'm not as hot about upgrade time as I am about maybe not having to move the family. I would maybe consider a move if it meant a lot more pay eventually. Of course, I may not even have these options, just have to see what happens if and when I interview and am offered a job.

That works...living where you want is priceless...and don't forget - you can fly 130 hrs/mo in the Bro - if you're willing to fly a lot you can make up for the $27 second-year pay. And a bit of a tangent here...as much as people on here moan and groan about the pay on the Bro - come on...second year pay at several regionals, on a 50+ seat jet is less than that!

The most junior SMF bro guy started class on May 7th. I don't know how long he's been there.

The base is only 5 FOs so that could throw a wrench in your plans if a couple die hard SMF guys are waiting for it now. SMF in the jet would probably take at least 8 months from the time you started class, but there are 15 jet FOs there.

If you are coming to Skywest with previous 121 time you could take a quick upgrade to the brasilia in fresno. This would be close enough to home for you to still not have to move the family (just a guess). The upgrade time on the brasilia has been as low as 6 months recently.

I too am holding out for EMB FO out of SLC. Somehow I ended up with SBP out of training...pretty tough commute out of there. But if things keep up the way they have been, it shouldn't be more than a couple more months before I get Salt Lake. The vast majority of my class (I think it was like 7 out of 12) went to FAT, one or two got PSP, one guy LAX, one or two SBA, and one got SFO, for what it's worth.
