News Report: Comair getting shut down?
Do not know how credible the story is. It is an interesting, and sad, report. Comair was a multi billion dollar company, then Delta bought them.

The news report does NOT say that Comair is being shut down. It says that there are rumors of that among the work force but other outcomes/explantions are still possible.
Thread title is misleading.
(I by no means indicate that Comair's future is all Unicorns and Rainbows. Just that the thread title is incorrect and tiresome.)

"Delta has previously sold two of its wholly-owned regionals" - and those two regionals were ASA, Mesaba, and Compass.
"Comair was the only airline to operate from Concourse C" - the other only airlines to operate from Concourse C were ASA, Skywest, Shuttle America, and Chautauqua.
The potential strike in 2006 was in response to the 1113 motion, and Delta/Comair's BK judge sided with the company barring that from happening.
Other than that, pretty good reporting. If there is such a thing as good reporting.

If this isn't true then Delta should have immediately set the record straight. Is Delta in any sort of negotiations on the property? (honest question)

In negotiations with all three unions.
Pilot TA submitted by Comair mgmt to Delta (the real mgmt of Comair) for approval.
Mechanics close to an agreement.
FA's are the "sticking point"...
Not difficult to see what another explanation of all this might be...

I have to say... the news is saying it. Whether the news is accurate or not is certainly debatable, but to me the thread title is accurate. Is he said "Comair shutting down", that would be a different case entirely.
