Actually it could be much more simple. At least at Eagle, we are all getting PIC types starting this month for prepartion for the new law. Each leg we fly, we log it as PIC time. It would require a change in the law but, make it much like 91.

Dont log that as PIC!!! You are not aircraft commander! That will bite you hard in the rear end when you go to interview for a major. |

That wasn't what he was saying (i think) he meant since they are getting PIC types, they COULD log pic time IF the law was changed to something like part 91...

You may be right. I keep going back and forth on my interpretation of his post. Weird wording... |

Reg* pardon my lack of intelligence....geez. thanks for missing the point.
Regulation / law no matter. I still ask what needs to be changed to let the poster who asked the question to log those legs as PIC? The law/regulation already exists - as was mentioned about part 91 flying. The *danger* of logging that time is due to different airline's requirement for time that they wish to be logged in such a manner. - - or did I still miss your point sandrich? USMCFLYR |
Log what ever you want as PIC, but FedEx, UPS, Southwest, and Expat Jobs, that require xxxx hours of turbine PIC, only accept one kind - real PIC/AC time. Not PIC by way of 'sole manipulator,' a 'reg change,' or 'seat switching.' The few 91 operators I am familiar with do switch seats leg-by-leg, or day-by-day, BUT most of the time both pilots are considered captains, do make the final decision when in the left, and have very similar salaries.
Until that happens in 121 (never) the pilot whom autographs the release is the only one whom should log PIC time. Cheers! |
