Um, first of all, I said I could hold a line NOW (actually for awhile now), so why would I 'sit on reserve for a year or two.' Maybe you would, but I would bid a line.
Secondly, I SAID the upgrade pace was 'glacial' (that means slow, Sparky).

Blah, blah you said something about young guys with no time getting hired at Horizon. When I was hired I was not low-time, particularly, nor particularly young (mid 20s). I had about 2500TT, 1000 PIC turbine. You did not teach me indoc. You couldn't teach me anything (at least not with any accuracy, from the looks of your writing). You need to bear in mind that not everybody looks for the same things from their airline career as you do. Ever notice some of the funky stuff some guys/gals bid every month? Makes no sense to you, but they have other priorities. But then, you seem to be the type who knows best for everyone. Guys like you sure are handy to have around!

My point still stands: Young and eager: Horizon maybe not for you. Happy living close to home with decent long-term prospects/not in need of big money now: Horizon might work for you. Works for me.

Nobody really needs your opinions on the company based on years ago when you were here. Your info. is old, your whining because Horizon was mean to you is even older. Did they force you to hire on, or what? Have some accountability! YOU made what you now consider to be a bad decision to join Horizon. There are no promises in life, and that sure as hell includes the airline industry. You no like Horizon. Horizon bad, bad, bad. We've got it. I'll continue to provide ACCURATE AND CURRENT INFORMATION to those who need it to make informed decisions.

Go cry your big tears somewhere else, willya?

I flew for Horizon and spent some time in the training department. I probably taught you basic indoct, so I know how management thinks. Mark my words Horizon is a dead end.

I went to CWU too and was excited to hear that my flight instructors got on at Horizon. Wow !! What a fast track !! That was almost 17 years ago and they all are still there and not very happy about it. Everyone who I ever knew (as a good friend) who got on with them has never left (with one or two exceptions). I know more who were fired than left to go to a major. Stay away from Horizon. Stay away !!!

Minimums may be minimums as you say, but I know that there are airlines out there that advertise one thing and are willing to bend the mins for certain people. This is especially true of some of the carriers that are facing high attrition rates (like ASA and AWAC).

I know of at least two people that have been hired at AWAC within the past 6 months with right about 1000/200. No other experience than flight instructing and right into the CRJ. Same holds true of ChaututtleRepublic... they are interviewing/hiring low time pilots that have less than 1500TT into the EMB145 fleet.

Besides, WHO YOU KNOW is more important than flight time in many instances...

I agree with flyerjosh, many airlines advertise minimuns but they hire pilots with less hours. Is just a way to recruit better qualified people, and keep the guys with less hours from throwing applications at them. If they find in your resume that you have what it takes they might give you a call. They not only look at you hours but at education, places you've worked things like that. Once you get to the interviw just get your act together, show them you have a good attitude, and it may happen.
