Thanks guys. I am actually thinking about applying to an airline where I would have to commute out of ORF. Live in the area so moving isnt an option. It is a 3 or so hour drive up to DC so that may be another way to do it. Not sure which would be worse though....

Why don't you apply to Air Wisconsin? We have a base here, and it is our most junior domicile. I believe interviews are being conducted soon for October and beyond...at least I hope so.

My app for Whiskey says "under review". I agree, this would make the msot sense. Thats my plan. Hopefully they open up the window soon.

Anyone know how ORF-PHL or ORF-DCA would be commute wise?

easier... than other options. Most of those flights are on awac planes. So you'd have priority. Probably a lot of DH's. I think LGA may be turning to another junior domicile because of the lines now.

I actually think he's talking about commuting to PHL, DCA to fly heavies for REPUBZ..

Well here's some RAH news. Junior is CMH and IND.... Good luck with that commute.

Beats me.. Topping out at 36.62 in the right seat is not awesome apparently.

Lets say you aren't flying for awac, is it still a tough commute to phl or dca? US Airways also flies out of PHL and DCA.

There always seems to be seats opening up and then filling up into ORF for whatever reason. DCA would be an easier commute; it seems like there are only a few flights a day that are full into or out of there. It seems like the only JS I have taken into/out of ORF are offline (why anyone would want to live in ORF/VAB when they don't have to work there is BEYOND me).
