Republic Airways bidding for domiciles
I know I saw this posted already but didn't read it at the time and can't find it. If you fly an A/C type for Republic, can you later put a bid in for CHQ and switch, If so, cool, and if not, why call it a master seniority list? If you can't switch airlines, can you at least do so as long as it's for the same Major?

Makes sense. But does that mean an EMB 170 F/O of Republic can switch to EMB 170 at Shuttle or CHQ if that happens? Also, the big question here is who will eventually fly the EMB 170s out of LGA (CHQ, Shutt, or Repub?) If not CHQ, will they fly the 145's for CHQ out of LGA at the same time the 170's do for say Repub also out of LGA? Also, when will that happen?..Just a little baffled.

CHQ will not be flying any 170s, per the scope of AA. As for Shuttle or Republic out of LGA, who knows. LGA is not a current base for Republic or Shuttle. Only CHQ. It would have to be Rep or Shuttle if they put 170s in LGA. |
But hypothetically, wouldn't the 170's out of LGA be for US Airways, not AA? Weren't those routes sold to CHQ, not Republic, or since it's owned by Republic, both Airlines could fly out of LGA? I'm just wondering if I get hired by RAH, and obviously have no chance to hold LGA EVER with CHQ, would I choose Republic if ever given a chance? And I don't even know the point spread on this bet!

So, the flying would have to be Republic or Shuttle. Most likely Republic. The planes (i think)would also be 175s. Remember this, things are changing here rapidly. New bases, closed bases and base reduction is going on for CHQ. So, I would not base your future here on where a base is at. You best want to be here for the sake of being at RAH. Let the base thing sort itself out later. |
This may sound ignorant, but would the EMB 175's be the same as the 170's, same pilots? If not, what's the difference?
|
Since I am so far removed from the 170(seniority wise), I am not completely up to speed on that subject. I thought I heard that the 175 seat configuration would be a higher pay scale than the 170.
|
Thanks. By the way, do EMB135,140, 145 pilots fly them interchangebly? If so, I wonder if the 170 pilots would fly the 175's even if the pay rates are different, just getting paid differently on each plane. How long is reserve been on the Republic side (ie. DCA or PIT base)?
