$5000 sign on bonus at Eagle
From the American Eagle Pilot Recruitment Facebook page:
"If you have not yet heard, American Eagle is hiring. We are looking for at least 400 pilots for 2013. Just this week, American Eagle started offering a $5000 sign on bonus. Update your application today!" http://www.facebook.com/AEPilotRecruitment |
hasnt the sing on bonus been tried before and the union fought it?

Only a union would oppose a company's attempt to attract labor by trying to give its new hires a bit of a pay increase. They are already earning food stamp wages.

typical AE union......just like when the company tried to raise FO pay, and the union said not without raising Capt pay.
We need to cater to the senior Captains making over 100k who are going to be a large reason this place is shrunk. This entire TA screwed the JR guys so that longevity pay was not hit. Its same old BS. |

Regardless of who this helps, it is a spit in the face to every Eagle pilot after taking that POS contract. If the company wanted this, they need to negotiate for it. Anyone who says otherwise can't see the big picture in all this.

union will always oppose signing bonus.....unless u want to give a bonus to every active pilot

Exactly. Nothing against noobs but If a new hire is worth a $5K bonus just for coming, then everybody on the list deserves an extra $5K for staying. Not just senior captains, but second year FO's too. Only a very short-sighted young tool won't see the long-term wisdom in this approach. Airline compensation is based on the escalator principle...if the company can selectively bribe anybody at any position on the escalator, the whole things falls apart. Not a great system by any stretch, but if that's what you have that's what you have to play by. How would you feel if you were nearing upgrade and the company paid mordida to every pilot except those plus or minus two years from upgrade (knowing that you'll stick around to get your 1000)? |
This sounds like a womderful opportunity. Anyone have HRs contact info?
