Any new word on Pinnacle??

Just wondering if anyone has any new news on Pinnacle. Did they indeed cancel the rest of the interviews "again" for this year??

Do you know that for a fact, or is that based on some blarps during the interview? Did you get a call with these dates?

Well, I know about November 20th because I am in that class and I was originally in the December 4th class until they called me and asked for me to change the Nov 20th class because the Dec 4th class was full.

Before I go on with my questions, let me say congradulations!! I wish you all the best with training - i'm sure you'll have fun! (this is genuine incase you think i'm being sarcastic trying to make fun or something....)

Now let me just make sure I understand correctly. You interviewed Nov 2nd, was told on the spot that you've been hired. Then was told to wait for a call regarding a class date. They called and told you that Dec 4th is full so they'll have to stick ya on the Nov 20th...?

Would you mind telling me who called ya with the class specifics?

Thanks much!

Thanks for the comment...I'm not sure who called, there were a few people who called me.

Smelling somethine there.....that December class shouldnt be full, I don't think there IS a DEC class. Maybe someone got a glass of the pin kool-aid handed to them.

jdr7225 11-12-2006 03:56 PM

Ive seen the pin kool-aid thing before but I'm not sure what you mean by it?

freezingflyboy 11-12-2006 05:52 PM

For all the nooobs:
Kool-Aid: (n) A reference to the 1978 cult mass-suicide in Jonestown, Guyana. Jim Jones, the leader of the group, convinced his followers to move to Jonestown. Late in the year he then ordered his flock to commit suicide by drinking grape-flavored Kool-Aid laced with potassium cyanide. In what is now commonly called "the Jonestown Massacre", 913 of the 1100 Jonestown residents drank the Kool-Aid and died.

One lasting legacy of the Jonestown tragedy is the saying, “Don’t drink the Kool-Aid.” This has come to mean, "Don’t trust any group you find to be a little on the kooky side." or "Whatever they tell you, don't believe it too strongly".

The phrase can also be used in the opposite sense to indicate that one has embraced a particular philosophy or perspective.

Alice: Hey, did you hear that Joe is working on the Nader campaign?
Bob: Yeah, he really drank the Kool-Aid on that one.

Chris: I'm thinking about attending a PETA rally
Donna: Whatever you do, don't drink the Kool-Aid!

Well the latest talk around the training dept is that there is indeed 2 new hire classes running now- 1 the end of this month, and 1 next month. In addition the captain upgrade class starts either tommorrow or next monday (not sure the dates for all these classes) and the plan is to run 2 additional classes next month in parallel to the new hire classes over the next month. The reason for the sudden change of heart? Well we were "supposedly" "fat" on FO's and short on captains so they are getting FO's to the left seat and we are getting more FO's and Capt's b/c we are "supposedly" getting the 15 crj's back. Now I am not sure the original source but this was earmarked as the reason for the change of heart as far as classes. I do not know when, but I *hope* its soon. Thats all I know/have heard as of today. Also still no word on the contract deal although pncl is "supposedly" putting in bids for other flying- have no other details on that. Hope it helps or at least has you wondering whats up as much as me!

Forgive my ignorance... But when NWA "took" 15 CRJs from Pinnacle, where did they go? Surely not to Mesaba. Did they just park em in the desert?

As far as I know they were parked in various places, some went back to canada and the rest were "parked" at various airports.
