Default Anyone got hired at the ATL job fair

I wanted to attend but after giving it much thought and evaluating my bank account, I decided not to bother purchasing a plane ticket to ATL and then purchase a $129 ticket to get into a job fair where I am not guaranteed a job.

Is there any positive feedback from anyone who attended? What did airlines look for with applicants and did anyone land a flying gig? $129 is a nice bit of change to pay for a job fair so I am curious to know how things went with the participating companies recruiting.

I didn't go, but I can tell you that job fairs NEVER guarantee you a job. You are paying for the networking. Some airlines interview on the spot, but you still have to get through it. Thinking a job fair will guarantee you a job is the wrong way to look at it. Its all about putting your face out there and networking.

Just apply to what ever regionals are hiring, save your money. If you meet their requirements i'm sure they will call you and most provide free travel to interview.

I agree with you 100%. However, if I am paying $129 for admission into a job fair. My expectations are going to be far different.

Paid $128 for it and I was disappointed. Will give the other guys a shot in Miami and see what happens.

On the other hand I saw GoJet hire some people after some on the spot interviews.

Id have a hard time shelling out that kind of to. I was hired in 07 and job fairs weren't necessary because anyone with a pulse could get on. If you have the mins, I'll echo what someone else on here said, apply everywhere. Regionals are going to be hiring like crazy soon so if you don't have the extra dough for a fair you should be fine. A job fair MIGHT help but I don't think you hurt yourself by not going.
