Default Pinnacle: Down the DCI Death Road (OH & F8)

So then I saw it: Delta's DCI Death Road... or shall I call it, an Expressway??
Freedom:
1- DL opened them a base in JFK, then moved the flying (or removed)
2- DL terminated -900 flying and then gave it to other carriers (Mesaba and ASA)
3- DL led them into bankruptcy (Withholding payments for contracts)
Comair:
1- DL opened them a base in JFK, then moved it to DTW (or removed)
2- DL terminated -700 flying and then gave it to other carriers (Skywest and GoJets)
3- DL killed them too
Pinnacle:
1- DL opened them a base in JFK, leading them down the first door of the death toll highway
2- DL terminated -900 flying and gave it to other carriers (ASA/Skywest)
3- DL led them into bankruptcy (By withholding cash payments: one that was due from the XJ saabs being retired and increased training associacted etc)

There are a ton of similarities. I just posted the top 3. I wonder who will venture into JFK next, have their flying shuffled, given away and led into bankruptcy?? Hopefully they will all be able to see it happen sooner than the Pinnacle guys and gals.

What's happening to Pinnacle guys & gals (and what happened to Comair) is sad, but comparing the actions of Delta's current management to Lorenzo is asinine.

todd you are welcome to your opinion, but if you look at Lorenzo's strategies and labor busting, it's in the same spirit as delta's behavior.

Waaaaaaay off! Delta management just gave an industry leading contract to nearly 12,000 pilots before their contract expired!

I'd say the labor relations are good at Delta.

The simple fact is, oil above $80 a barrel makes CRJ-200's unprofitable. The new scope rules drastically reduce Delta Connection total airplanes and the merger between Northwest and Delta had little route overlap among the majors, but a large amount of route overlap among the regionals.

It's no surprise that Pinnacle was given JFK. The on time performance and completion factor requirements in the aircraft service agreement are completely unrealistic at New York's JFK and/or LGA airports. What's the legal loophole in null and voiding an aircraft service agreement? Completion factor and on time performance. If you move a regional into that base........out goes the contract!

As for a replacement in JFK? With gas as high as it is......AirTran's 717's are the replacement. It will be reducing frequency, but keeping the ASM's the same. Same total seats, just fewer flight options is the industry trend right now.

Gas isn't ever coming back down. It's just taking our industry time to transition.

Don't the NY airports have their own metrics for on time performance and completion factor?

I'll concede that the difference between the two is quantitative rather than qualitative. As Pinchanickled said, at least Delta is doing right by its own employees (pilots anyway). But in terms of dismantling airlines, shuffling planes around and misusing the bankruptcy process (though not on the same scale) I think you have a point.
