Delta Connection in 1990

Found this little section about DCI in a book. Thought you all might find it interesting to just how much has changed (or hasn't) in 22 years.

The routes of those regional airlines look a lot more regional than they do now.

Thank you for posting this.

Very nice find, always enjoyable to look back on what was and has become.

Hey, I've flown two of the four airplanes pictured. Still driving one of em.

Still don't know if I'll go to the "regional" jets my company operates voluntarily or not. Not sure if I have to turn my man card in first if I do.

Joking, its a joke people. Relax.

Thats what regional flying is. I was flying a saab and was proud of it cause we did routes like that. Although the jet guys gave us abunch of crap for the slob.

Saabs 12-07-2012 04:58 PM

Saabs rule!

higney85 12-07-2012 05:02 PM

How many drinks would it take to talk about the positive changes from 1990 to present if scope was kept at 34/35 seats?

Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.

Sadly the tool used by mainline to subsidize their own operation, DALPA approved.

Not sure exactly what your saying...... Don't be so ambiguous, what are you saying????

trip 12-07-2012 07:24 PM

Not trying to be ambiguous. These early contracts were the beginning of debacle we have today where RJ's are flown all over N. America. Too bad they're not flown by pilots employed by name of the company on the ticket stub, just MHO.

CFItillIdie 12-07-2012 07:35 PM

2012 Regional Pilot=North America...give me a little more gas and I can make it to the UK! Whats next after the next main line contract? Region Planet Earth!!!
