5000 Bonus Analysis- Is it worth it?

There is only one mainly that operates E190s! And that is US Airways who seems to prefer younger captains and FO. We at Eagle have lost some guys to US Aiways in the last few month! JetBlue is the only other E190 operator and they have been hiring FO for a while.

The company might be able to successfully argue that they can pay a bonus to new hire pilots because while on probation, they aren't "truly" represented by ALPA.
However this bonus is paid over two years (one year into ALPA representation). Is there a system board grievance filed because AE is changing pay (additional bonus pay) and work conditions (employment contract outside the cba) for a select group of pilots without addressing pay and work rule improvements for the rest of the pilots?
How are these pilots received by line crews, how many do you suppose will make it off of probation?

Also, do these figures include non-posted contract pay for CRJ 2 vs 7/9 etc.. Because that is like $2 per hour at least.

I don't really think the airplane type has a anything to do with it. Probably makes it easier for 170 guys to transition to a 190. I know of a couple guys who were FO's on the CRJ and went to B6.

Bonuses end up getting taxed at the same rate as regular wages, they're just withheld at a higher rate (I think it's about 25%). You lose the time value of the money that's withheld, but it goes toward your total liability or refund.

I can confirm, for a fact, that anything labeled "bonus" is taxed at highest tax rate. In theory you get the "difference" when you file at the end of the year.
