Express Jet Contract

This might be a stupid question but I just wanted to know if Express Jet and Continental Airlines had the same contract?

David Watts 11-15-2006 06:27 AM

No they do not. Thank God.

Ours (XJT's) is way better.

Sanchez 11-15-2006 08:19 AM

In my humble opinion, ours is better in everything except pay. Maybe someone that has gone on to CAL from XJT can step in and give us a better view.

I spent 9 years at Express and 2 at CAL. I'll take CAL's anyday! Pay or anything. There are a couple minor things in the XJT contract not in CAL's, but who cares. Life is better at CAL. When I fly the 767, my two year FO pay is the same as my 9 year CA pay at Express! I'm less than 100 numbers from upgrade and $138/hour. In the 757, I do two to four legs per week, not per day. I have more days off than when I was number 14 in EWR. New hires can hold any plane from the 737 up to the 777 in EWR. My QOL is much better here. :D

Good luck to those who are trying to get here. Keep trying.

What got you in over there was it the Xjet connection or just the time? What kind of times are competitive and will they look at a prop driver?

Does anyone know the hiring situation at XJT right now? Last I heard, they were just getting to reviewing applications that were submitted in august...

BROKE CFI 11-15-2006 02:22 PM

I called about a week ago and the recording said that they were reviewing resumes submitted in september
It seems like it's taking everyone at least 8-12 weeks to hear anything from ExpressJet

Hiring is still in full swing. 64 in december, 80/month in JAN and Feb.... submit the stuff and hope for the best.... must be interviewing like crazy.

Good luck all.
