Incorrect. That is the sort of thing they live for. :)

I guess. Considering we can't fill classes, I would think they don't want to let people go. However, looking at our attrition rate, I am surprised at the amount of people we've fired.

OMG it's the end of the world! I'm surprise anyone would even look at L-ASA considering they can't do that! Pshhh

It just seemed outside the realm of common sense to now allow reserves to try to make extra money on their days off if they wanted to. Wait...maybe that's why 9E went bankrupt, they allow RSVs like me to work themselves to death on their days off for premium pay. Just thought if I made a lateral move (furlough pending here) I'd still be able to do the same. Mind boggling!

You can't call in sick then non-rev.

I'm sure that was not his plan, unless he bought a ticket.

The problem with that at L-ASA is that scheduling wants to control each reserve pilot. In other words, when you're off and picking up trips, you may hit a 30 in 7 problem when they go to schedule you. Another example is contractually pilots can only work 6 days straight. There are more problems that exist when this happens.

On a side note, I believe there was a memo about reserve picking up trips but I'm not sure what it said as it did not apply to me. It could have a been a one month deal.

Didn't the DTW Chief Pilot get on someones Facebook to catch someone doing something similar or was that just an urban legend?

Obviously you are not DTW based. Otherwise you would have heard about the facebook scandal.

Nope, I'm in the dirty south. Always thought that was a tale. If it's true... bummer. Must have been Facebook "friends" with the chief, that or he ****ed people off and was on the radar.
