Regional Pilots and their phones
Hello everyone, I am doing a bit of a market study on what kind of phones regional pilots have. I will be doing the same poll for Mainline pilots. As some of you may know, I make apps currently available for iPhone users. Check them out at Starving Pilot Company - iPhone Apps for Pilots. I wanted to see which percentage of pilots have iphones, droids etc... I appreciate the help in the advance.

Probably easier if you create a poll. I have an android sIII.

2004 Samsung V1660.
Seriously. Can't afford a smart phone. |

Psh Mark you know what phone I have :-P

HTC currently, but there's a decent chance I'm going back to the iPhone here PDQ. And that's simply because there are apps I want that I can only get via the Apple Store, *COUGH* starvingpilotcompanyandcoradineaviation *COUGH*

I guess you can't see polls via the apc phone app.

Just picked up the Droid Razzor Max HD...I've gone anywhere from 30-50 hrs on one charge depending on how it's used. Love it!

S3...........

HTC Merge (yeah, youve never heard of it but I love it)
|
iPhone 4 for the past year, but not for much longer. Hate it. It'll be the Samsung Galaxy or the new Blackberry 10 for me. We'll see what happens at the end of the month.

The pocket ACARS app looks cool, can you make one where you can use it for the CRJ700/900?

Samsung Droid Charge. May be swapping to the iPhone 5 soon simply because I use an iPad for the flightkit and my family all has iPhones, so synchronization would be nice. Still prefer Android over too-proprietary-Apple though.

iPhone 5, haven't really seen a reason to change.
|
Samsung galaxy sIII here

I was thinking it was going to be closer to 50/50 between the two phones. It looks like the iPhone is still dominating the market... Thank you all for the replies.

I had an android. Every time I landed in a new city and turned it on, it would run every app in the background while it downloaded updates. This could take up to 15 minutes. Needless to say my battery died quite quickly. I now have my first iphone (iphone 5). The performance differences are night and day. IMHO, the iphone is a much superior product. I had an HTC Evo fwiw.

Evo's are garbage. Really any HTC product is garbage. I have the RAZR Maxx HD and it will last two whole days on one charge with heavy usage. Your whole update problem could have been solved in 10 seconds. Enjoy the tiny screen ;).

I hate having to use the app killer every 5 seconds, and then watch it actually kill apps that launch on their own seconds later. The 4" screen is perfect btw on the iphone 5, enjoy the massive uncomfortable bulge in your pocket (and im not talking about that bulge), the iphone disappears in a pocket yet has a screen good enough to do anything on without being cramped. The metal and glass phone has a nice feel to it too, unlike a big chunk of plastic that is practically every droid (especially every Samsung phone ever made). Im not a fan boy by any means, but the 5 has finally nailed it.
