CHQ and Expressjet

Are there any known tensions between ExpressJet pilots and CHQ pilots, in regard to the CHQ CRJ CoEx flying that is about to begin in Jan./Feb.?

There really isn't that much. Most XJT guys understand that we had not control over it. There are few XJT guys that beleive that the flying CHQ is getting is OUR flying. Bottom line is that is CALs flying and they can do what they want with it.

Methinks Quagmire is trying to stir the pot. :) xkuzme1 is dead-on, IMO. I'm way more ticked off at big brother than CHQ.

CHQ pilots didn't ask bid on CALEx flying, and did not have a choice in whether or not we wanted to take up such flying. I think most XJT pilots know that, and if not, they will soon find out as their company begins to bid on and eventually recieve "someone else's flying".

We are all after growth, but growth almost always comes at someone else's expense. A stable, stagnant airline like Air Whiskey or American Eagle is not a bad thing. There is only so much flying out there.

That is true. I wouldn't say there is any genuine animosity here in IAH. Besides, we can still make fun of your airline's goofy name:D I can't wait to hear the IAH approach controller who always makes fun of CHQ on the radio. Whats he gonna do with all those Chaniquas and Chiquitas flying around?

Not trying to stir the pot in any way, I have great respect for both airlines. I was just curious as to the general opinion at RAH and ExpressJet.

No hard feelings here, as long as the guys from chaniqua show up with a good and humble attitude.

I think that you can count on that.

SharkyBN584 11-22-2006 07:28 PM

I did have one friend at XJT tell me she couldn't believe we would "accept such a sh!tty contract" to do their flying...but our contract's been around way before this whole thing ever came up and it's pretty comporable to XJT's...better in some respects, worse in others...this was discussed in a previous thread awhile ago...so I'm not really sure what she was talking about.

Everyone else I know there does not have a huge problem with it. It's not like XJT is furloughing...in fact I'm pretty sure they're hiring at the same rate if not more than we are. Fact of the matter is it's a pretty even playing field and it was mainly CAL and managements decision. Now...if our flying was costing jobs at XJT, I'm pretty sure both pilot groups would be a lil' p!ssed about the situation. Short story long...no hard feelings here.

Should they be the only ones who show up with "a good and humble attitude"?

Well, we're not really showing up anywhere now are we? Read between the lines. I don't think there's going to be a problem between the pilot groups, however, there were a few tools that we had to deal with when colgan came around, they were dealt with. I can honestly tell you that 99% of the folks here have a good attitude; we expect the same in return, that's why I made the comment.

TSA should do so also :) "Good morning Mr. Pilot, sir. It's so nice to see you, sir. It's ok, just because you are not in uniform does not mean I should make you take your shoes off or take your hair gel, sir. You have a wonderful day."

Don't get me started on TSA!

Seriously dude, what do you expect? Do you think they are all going to come up to you and kiss your feet and ask for forgiveness because of a decision that was made way the hell above all our pay grades put together?

It's been going on for years in the regional industry. As much as it sucks, get used to it.

And by the way, if we were to "show up somwhere" like ATL, MKE, LAX, DFW, CVG, ect for the flying that management bid on, what do you think the pilots from Comair, ASA, Eagle, Skyway would expect from us?

Noone said anything about @ss kissing you moron, just show up to work like you normally do with a good attitude (well probably not you from your demeanor) and things will be great. I know the realities of the industry as I'm sure I've been in the game longer than you have in one capacity or another. This is exactly why I made the comment, I'm sure the guys at Chaniqua are good people for the most part, but there is no doubt from the above post that there are some tools there. You probably went to Riddle didn't you? You're that tool that makes those flying videos to try to impress girls...you can tell us is ok.

Once again. I did not start this thread to end up bashing eachother. I said it earlier...I'll say it again. Both CHQ and ExpressJet are great companies with good people. So let's all get along and be happy. =)

Happy Turkey Day

Before this gets worse, never assume anything about somebody you don't know over the internet. If you want to call me a moron, think twice next time. Are you SURE you have been in this industry longer than I have "Mr 145XR First Officer"? Is that why they let you fly the XR and not the other models we have? Because you have SOOO much experience in this industry?

Is this the same "Sanchez" that posts on the crackpipe, if so, this could get really ugly.

And lastly, you made a seriously flawed ASSumption. I didn't go to riddle. I didn't call you names, which you resorted to as well as made unfounded assumptions. You've already lost this argument whether you like it or not. Sorry buddy.

Well let's have it, you know who I am, why don't you tell us who you are. I do fly the embraer but like most, the XR is my favorite model, and I've been in the industry longer than I've been flying, I made that clear. I made my point, you didn't like it and that's ok. Your post was pretty aggressive, and if you're not prepared to take the heat don't start the flames boss.

It's not me that can't take the "heat". YOU made ASSumptions and YOU called names. Your perception that it was "agressive" is just that. YOUR perception.

Yeah, you're right, nothing inflamatory about this post!

Sorry if it offends you, but the guy that makes those videos is a total tool, and an embarrasment to the profession.

Personally, I believe it would be infantile for pilots of one company to dislike pilots of another company because of competitive reasons like this. Hopefully, most pilots have moved beyond third grade attitudes like that understand that in the real world, companies gain and lose business and move on.

JoeyMeatballs 11-24-2006 05:33 AM

CHQ guys/gals had absolutely nothing to do with this. Anybody that is angry at them for the flying is being rediculous
