XJT CR2 Returns start

684BR (ex ACA/Indy Air) was ferried to KIGM yesterday as ASQ 5644. The shinkage starts...

ysslah 04-30-2013 04:51 AM

Huh, I had no idea they actually fixed that airplane. It was sitting in MLI for a while with a sizable hole on the pressure vessel.

So they going to position notice and move FO's and capts or just leave as reserves

What caused that??

Is anyone sure that plane is doneski or was that a repo for mx flight?

Wont need to, at least not yet. Right now we are understaffed on the 200 considering our threshold has been 90 since February for FO's. I would like to see it back to 75 personally.

XJT doesn't operate CRJ-200s. ASA does.

EV120 04-30-2013 04:09 PM

hmmmm....what's the name on the certificate and on the side of the plane?

Don't antagonize people. You know exactly what the OP means.

Strong winds caused it. Terminal cameras show the aircraft parked at the gate then strong winds came through, and the camera went white. When everything was done there were skid marks on the pavement where the mains slid about 10 feet, and the nose a couple of feet, and was slammed into a jetbridge

And that's not even the picture of all the ERJs just sitting there.

Yup been there too.

The 50 seat aircraft(except the XRs) are quite frankly pieces of poo. They can't even carry alternate fuel without bumping a lot of people. There will be no pilot shortage, there will however, be a lot of 50 seaters collecting sand in the desert.

Delta has a whole (former) runway in Kingman packed with Comair metal...

String682 05-01-2013 06:45 PM

And apparently a lot of those engines still have good life left in them, instead of overhauling our -B engines when they come due, Delta said its cheaper to pull -A engines out of the desert and put them back in service. So now were beginning to see planes with mixed engine types, requiring us look-up engine setting off of paper charts, Thanks Big-D!

MR JT8D 05-02-2013 05:13 AM

Don't worrry, they have lots of room for XJT's EMB-145's. By years end, they'll be plenty of them stitting there.

Are they parking the I-pads in the desert too? LOL...

Hmmm, what does your contract say?

Captain Tony 05-02-2013 06:42 AM

But back on topic, they ferried a totaled plane to the desert. Nothing to see here.

I suppose with that logic you think America West still exists? We're still the ASA pilot group, but the company only has one name. These are ExpressJet aircraft we're talking about.

Of course I know that you know that and are simply pushing buttons for fun.

Don'cha just love the forums, where everyone's an expert on everything, circular logic prevails, and people let anonymous (or not so anonymous) characters get under their skin. ;)

Does anyone have any idea where these planes are going to go from Kingman, other than to the glue factory? Is there a market outside of the U.S. for old CRJs/ERJs?

cactipilot 05-04-2013 11:17 AM

There used to be BAE 146s and Dornier 328s there but they all have disappeared. The BAEs are actually being marketed as corporate jets in Europe, and being upgraded.
