Midwest asks XJT for new proposal
 

I just read that Midwest Express asked XJT for another proposal to take over some of their regional flying. Aparently they were disapointed with Air Wisky and want to hear what XJT has to offer (again). Has anyone heard about this? Any rumors as to where XJT may look in the future? I know they are trying to become an independent airline, but I wonder if there may be something else in the works? Hopefully those 69 aircraft will find a home eventually.....

The pilots are AWAC are in the dark. Rumors abound, but the truth is nowhere to be found.

With that said, I don't think AWAC will get this. I hope I am wrong.

If we don't get it, attrition will skyrocket I bet. Also, there will be a major shakeup in management if this doesn't happen because it would mean that AWAC will have lost about 5 or 6 RFPs in the past 24 months and only gotten flying by buying it.

There has been no hard intel that Midwest hasn't been happy with AWAC's aircraft, inflight or proposal financials...only rumors. That said, if a Midwest representative rode a few flights on us through the PHL system, they probably did deal with a young, immature FA chatting on a cell phone and terribly filthy cabins.

I still like our chances of securing this flying with Rankin as CEO, but nothing is a sure bet and I'm not holding my breath. If XJT wins this RFP, I'll be glad knowing it went to a great operation needing some good news but I'll hate looking at blue Embraers in PHL & MKE thinking "I should be eating cookies right now."

The next 4-6 weeks will tell much about just how rosy the next few years will be at AWAC. Midwest or not, there will be movement...maybe just not the kind everybody likes.

If it's down to just us two, sure, I'd love to see us get the contract. However, if we don't, I'm glad to see that you guys at AWAC would get it. You guys are a class act, plus it keeps Codeshare-R-Us away from it.
