Comair domicile question.

I recently got hired at Comair and was wondering what my chances were to get Cincinnati as domicile. Thank You.

RiddleEagle18 11-27-2006 03:59 PM

i'm wondering the same... Im sure with the 12 aircraft going to skwest that will displace alot of people. That should asure us of JFK. Im so excited.

olden208 11-27-2006 04:27 PM

Hey riddleeagle what class will you be in? Are you from erau?

RiddleEagle18 11-27-2006 04:34 PM

Hey Im in the Dec 7th class...

Pantera 11-27-2006 04:37 PM

Yes JFK is your future

The chances of getting CVG are slim since all of the CRJ70 were CVG based. It displaced a lot of pilots and since stuff rolls down hill (JFK being the bottom) You will no doubt be at JFK for awhile. But look at the bright side JFK is doubling in size which means you will be further from the bottom of the crap pile for less time. However things change and you might get CVG you never can tell in this business.

olden208 11-27-2006 04:49 PM

Thank you Pantera, do you mean that JFK is growing because of the displaced pilots or are they adding flights?

RiddleEagle18 11-27-2006 07:43 PM

if im willing to almost live in a crashpad could I commute to JFK from cvg??? I know im probably streching here.

Why do people feel its necessary to say "thank you" at the end of their posts? What are you thanking us for? Worthless. Bugs me more than when people say "Thank you" at the end of PAs:rolleyes: At least when they say "thank you for your attention" or "thank you for saving my a$$" I know what I am being thanked for. But saying "thank you" just because you don't know how else to end your statement? Worthless.

Rant over...

Why would you want to live in a crash pad? You'll probably end up getting athletes foot and crabs if you stay in one of those places too long. Why would you think Cinci to NYC would be a stretch for commuting? I'm sure Delta has about a billion flights a day between the two. Besides, with some planning you can use pretty much any of the "big three" NYC airports.

Umm...would you rather they say F*&K you? What was the point in even posting this? To answer your question, they are simply thanking you in advance for the question that they asked. No wonder some pilots get a reputation for being *********S.

Id rather they just finish making their point and then SHUT THEIR PIE HOLE!!! If the F-bomb is the only way you know how do it, then thats your prerogative just don't be surprised if someone hits you in the mouth after a flight or if you get called in for a carpet dance. And to answer YOUR question about the point of MY post, I clearly stated that it was a RANT, nothing more... You are more than welcome to ignore my posts tinpusher.

Trust me, no one would be hitting me in the mouth. And Im not one to use profanity at all in a professional setting, it was a sarcastic way of asking why you wouldn't want to be thanked for answering a question for someone. But, unless you have something more constructive to say, I will take your advice and ignore your posts...you're strange! But, to each, his own.

For you guys who had an interview in the last several weeks at Comair, how was it? I am interviewing on the 7th and wondering how the experience was. I've been reading on aviation interviews plenty, but my main question is what base do you think we'll get(assuming I get the job)? I live in Memphis and don't really want to move. I want Cincy because it would be an easy commute. Any thoughts?

bassslayer 11-28-2006 12:45 PM

I'm have an interview coming up as well. From everything I have been reading new hires are pretty much guaranteed JFK.

sgrd0q 11-28-2006 12:50 PM

Who thinks freezingflyboy is a little touchy today? Thank you!

Spongebob 11-28-2006 01:24 PM

Interview was EXACTLY the same as posted on aviationinterviews.com

Freezingflyboy,

Honostly, why would you yell at someone for being polite? Thank you for any future reply to this.

Thank you.

Thanks.

atpwannabe 11-28-2006 07:30 PM

So...how many years does the most junior-senior FO have in GSO? I read somewhere else that it's 4 1/2 years in MCO.

lowflyby 11-29-2006 06:25 AM

Well hopefully if most people are going to JFK now, maybe they'll have all the spots filled up by the time I start training, which might be in january sometime if I get the job.

lowflyby 11-29-2006 06:30 AM

One more thing, I'm not sure if anyone here would know this, but if based in JFK, how long do you think it would take to hold Cincy if I kept bidding on it?

garritto 11-29-2006 09:05 AM

The way things are looking I would rather stay in JFK and maybe get a line quicker....if that's where all the newbs are going

jrmyl 11-30-2006 05:24 AM

Here are the latest as far as fo's:
GSO--Most Senior FO--1/26/00
Most Junior FO--New Hire
JFK--Most Senior FO--5/14/99
Most Junior FO--New Hire
MCO--Most Senior FO--3/20/97
Most Junior FO--3/19/03
CVG--Most Senior FO--4/9/93
Most Junior FO--New Hire

Hope this helps

Blkflyer 11-30-2006 06:40 AM

I would worry about getting the JOB first then worry about getting tru training and IOE then off probation, there are too many variables at this point.. there may be a base in BOS.. or even DCA who knows but at this point just focus on the important stuff...

bassslayer 11-30-2006 08:32 AM

For you guys actually working at CMR, has there been any word of losing more flying? I thought I read somewhere that it is possible CMR may lose 20-25 CRJ 200's to ASA. Just wondering what a new hire's chances of making it through training without being furloughed are. It seems they are doing a lot of hiring for having such a bleak outlook. Are there really that many people leaving?

Whats that? You really shouldn't mumble:D How bout instead of saying "thank you" at the end of a PA say "i like puppies"? Bet that makes everyone feel just as warm and fuzzy.

Boohoohoo...I'm watering down my beer with tears:rolleyes: Every job I've had has at some point required an early morning or 2. The only reason I am doing this trip is because I traded my 23+hr trip so I could get home earlier. But I don't care what you're doing, being at work at 5am SUCKS. So flight25 you can, respectfully, go suck an egg.
