Training Contracts

I thought that the insulting first year pay was the "Training Contract" implicit in taking a regional position. You'll accept less-than-walmart wages to fly for 1 year because they drop a few dollars on sim time. Who has them now?

Silver dropped there's. I believe Republic still has one, and AE if you want the bonus I believe.

AE does not have a training contract.

Please just don't accept employment or sign a contract if you have ANY other offer, people.... economics will dictate the contracts go bye bye, much to the benefit of all.

Republic only has a training contract on the shiny 170. Q400 and 145 have no contract and you still get the $5,000 bonus ($3200-3300) after taxes.

You get a lot of that back when you file. Bonuses and regular wages are taxed the same amount but a higher amount of the bonus is withheld.

Actually from my understanding they haven't struggled to staff the shiny 170 yet. They can't staff the Q400. In fact they just started a program where employees can refer a Q400 pilot and get $1,000. Rather than give us a new contract they continue to offer bonuses. $1,000 referral bonus and $5,000 new hire bonus. I hope they struggle to staff and are forced to improve the pilot contract to attract and retain people.

Talked to a Republic recruiter 2 weeks ago. He said the training contract was only if you elected to take the $5,000 signing bonus. So.......no bonus = no contract.

Also, he said the bonus was paid only after you filed an expense report, so you don't get taxed on it as income.

I'm not a RAH employee, so I'm not sure if this is true or how the whole no tax/expense thing works. I'm just repeating what the recruiter told me
