That thing is amazing tho. VNAV and all the glass a girl could want. Wow, I wish this AC was more effective in the room. I bet the 170 has really good AC. If Eagle had a bridge program that allowed me to fly it for -12,000 a year do you think they would go for that? Did I mention how big it is? It's like up into the 80's...

really not worth the 12K a year republic pays its fo, multi time is multi time, and i hear republic asked US air not to hire anyone because they cant get any one to replace the people that are leaving.

Honest question....not trolling..... Has anyone actually met a 175 pilot that acted superior because of this thing? I know I certainly haven't. I'm not sure where all of the superiority complex talk started.
Compass. Pilots.

Really? Pretty much all of us are not here by choice. The majority of pilots here are here because of an airline shutdown (ata, Comair, Indy, etc...) or furlough. There are a lot of things that could describe the compass pilot group but cocky with a superiority complex is not one of them.

I don't know you personally but all of the ignored salutations and 1000 yard stares have definitely given more than one pilot that particular impression.

I get more crap comments from CRJ drivers about the airplane we fly than anything.

Which is crap because I bet 90% of them have applied or are in the pool after 9E filed BK, I know I did. Which is the majority of the reason it seems why most CP pilots are there, something bad happened at the last job. They may have had SFS ( shiny flow syndrome) but def. not SJS from the people I have spoke with. Anyways when's hiring going to start again? :)

On the Brazilian registration, there are posters in the RAH HQ showing US Airways Express jets with temporary Brazilian registration. It's pretty common.

Exactly, most of my coworkers as well as myself have flown CRJ's or ERJ's for carriers that laid us off or went out of business. We know the issues, we have FO's that spent 7+ years in the right seat (I'm on year 8), and no one here came for the shiny plane.

We laugh when someone calls us a 'transitional jet' or 'real airplane' on the radio...because we think it's silly. We are just underpaid pilots like everyone else.

Sure, if you think you can step up and handle a larger bird. In all seriousness BB did mention the possibility of buying AE in the near future.

buddies8 06-24-2013 08:29 AM

1. To buy for the long term contract eagle may have.
2. Buy it for the pilot supply.
But eagle does have an 18 year lease deal now 16 left on all facilities and equipment.

flyguy23 06-24-2013 08:43 AM

Bedford said eagle and pinnacle would be bought by either tsa, Skywest, or rah. That kind of talk typically starts with CEOs once something is in the works. It looks Parker will right size the ae fleet as well as the contract before a sale takes place. It's coming IMO.

Snickers 06-24-2013 12:02 PM

Where did he say that?

24601 06-24-2013 12:31 PM

in a company wide e-mail. right after he said we get paid too much and thats the reason skywest got the united deal

Worth noting that SKW pay rates are higher than yours. Poor arguement from someone who should know better.

It's not all about the payrates, there is much more than influences your W2. Work rules are as important as pay rates.

Is this regional crap/underpaid pilot situation ever going to stop? You all seem so miserable.

Why doesn't a whole company of pilots draw a line at some point and just strike. Don't show up at work, nationwide, until they raise your F/O salary to at least $40k/year.

It's sad to read nothing but complaints about working at regionals from so many people that work at regionals. It's as if you all spent 5-10 years working your asses off everyday to get a right seat and then the whole notion of being a pilot became less desirable than working as a cashier's at McDonalds.

With this new 1500-hour rule and the fact that less people are becoming pilots, or are willing to go the full stretch, it'll just be a matter of time before supply/demand of pilots dictate a salary increase. I know there's always gonna be that kid wanting to fly the bird for free, but as a bigger picture, less and less people will want to work at the regionals and maybe at the point.....someone in management will realize that $20 million bonus might be better off being paid off to the workforce.

Ugh.

A lot of the RAH pilot group have been chomping at the bit to strike. They want it bad. Let's all get real and realize we all want to get paid more. I mean I fly an crj2 right seat now and will gross high 50's and I want more. This should be everyone's mentality and it (for the most part) is.

I'll admit it, I make E170 jokes, but you can't sit there and act like the RAH pilots love their paycheck and go home wagging their tails every week. Deep down, some of them (very few) really feel superior flying the big jet haha, but as a whole they do not.

DA40, what you may not realize is that the NMB controls it all... cant strike until they say so. Don't even get me started on having illegal strikes, because that's just not a very bright thing to do.
