Ryanair...We still have it worse.

At the regional level that is. Pension? What's that?

We have it better.

Yikes!!! I had know idea it was that bad over there. Who in there right mind would go to these extremes to be a pilot for them, Europeans definitely have a different mindset on this.

And yet fresh bodies show up at the door there seeking employment.
Those conditions are simply madness. Hence it's hard to feel sympathy for them since they knowingly brought such foolishness upon themselves.

We have it bad enough here with sh!tty regional airline pay, but to have to pay for your own training ,meals, and hotel rooms?

If people want Greyhound type fares, they should ride Greyhound. Especially in their pajamas and slippers.

Yes but...even after paying for training, hotel and meals, at the end of the year they still have more money in the bank because they make more. Also, some airlines here make you get your own hotel too like Compass I believe and no regional that I know give you meals.

Keep in mind these are entry level jobs too and a lot of these guys are getting hired with 200 hours and upgrading fairly fast. Get some PIC time in a 737 and you're pretty much set. How far has your SIC time in a CRJ 200 gotten you?

No it's not great at RyanAir compared to say KLM but here we do have it worse imo. Many of us are making less than $35 as FO's for 5 or more years working 16 hour days on min rest. I'm not talking about the lucky few who upgrade in a year and move on to majors in 3. I'm talking about the majority of us who's father isn't the CP at UAL.

So we have it better? Ask a 7 year FO at Pinnacle how great we have it. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how it's any better here.

They basically describe the regional environment here in the US, except they get paid more then us in the USA.
I would have to guess this culture is very new to the EU so that's why they are concerned about it.
It's sad that this mentality has crept into one of the last places this career actually meant something.

Some US regionals make you pay for your own training and hotel rooms. Are there any regionals that don't make you pay for your own meals?
