Yeah. Why the name of jesus would anyone go to lakes with everyone hiring??

Use Lakes as the sim prep for when he gets an interview at a more legitimate airline.

Interview experience is good. Accepting a sub-par job is not.

Great mistakes is in no position to exist at all. Friend over there just got 1000TPIC and is bailing ASAP. Every line and chief pilot are flying in the right seat to cover trips and there is no way they will get a 135 certificate. Can't wait for this place to close.

Yes, work there for Govt Cheese.

they dont pay for training, or flight to the interview or any costs associated with it. Training contract, last i knew was $7,500 and 15 months.
Seriously, with the new 1500 hour rule dont go to GLA, its not worth it. tell your buddy to respect himself a little more and get a job at a different regional. any of them is twice as good as GLA. Its not like the good ole days where people would be hired at 250TT, upgrade at 1500, fly for a year and bail with 1000TPIC. They are losing EAS routes, attempting a makeshift 135/121 combo cert. Seriously, GLA is possibly the worst career path right now, unless you are ok with making minimum wage or less and maybe get an upgrade to capt. That and you will likely put yourself in debt if you are lucky enough to not already be.

Hi,

My friend has an interview at great lakes next week and is looking to do sim prep in Denver at the place they will conduct the sim evaluation. The information he was sent said the interview will be conducted at a hotel in Denver, does anyone know where the sim is at and whether it's a place that will provide practice? Thanks for your time!

Seriously, this must be a joke! :)

Everyone is hiring. Why would anyone with ATP mins go to lakes or Mesa? I'm always amazed reading these boards.

TheFly 01-14-2014 07:18 PM

SVA402, I have one question…why? Why is your friend interviewing at Great Lakes and not another regional?

bernouli 01-14-2014 08:16 PM

Great Lakes....why?

There's not a single good reason.
