Captain Moak On Pilot Shortage

Captain Moak announced today that due the pilot shortage regional new hire pilot pay must increase to $50,000. Still much too low for someone with a 4 year college degree who has spent over $100,000 to attain their licenses, but a long overdue step in the right direction.

He went on to say he would no longer stand for ALPA pilots flying $20 million dollar jets and making less than WalMart greeters.

TIC!

Captain Moak On Pilot Shortage

We will see how long it will take to actually come to reality. "Saying" and "Reality" are two different animals. But if this is ALPA's new push, I'll stand behind them...but I would need to see some activity like talks with management and LOA's put into place.

When did he announce this? I have no email from him other than the one about B6.

Thanks again, XJT !

gzsg is one of the crazies from the DAL board. The "TIC" at the end was the attempt to show it as a fake. It'd be better to put him on ignore and lock this thread.

BTW, almost every Delta pilot would love to have all regional flying come in house and stop the whipsaw, it's a matter of how to convince mgt to do it when they don't want to and its prohibitively expensive.

The limits will continue to shrink and flying will shift back, but it didn't go off-list overnight and it will take a while to undo it.

50k is not much but a start! We shall see then if there is ay kind of "shortage".

How anyone believed this, for even a minute, is beyond me.

Nobody at ALPA national gives a rats ass bout regional pay.

HA, everyone knows Moak likes backroom, alter ego deals, which sell mainline jobs.
