email I saw was from a Jeremy Atkin who IS on the HR staff here (don't know if there is any relation to Jerry).

Also, The MEsa Airlines in the parking lot at SkyWest Hanger appears to be false. Ihave not seen any evidence to prove this rumors authenticity.

Jeremy Atkin, not Jerry. You know, Jeremy in pilot recruiting? 100% serious.

Official title would be: Coordinator Pilot Interview

So yeah if he confirms it, then its very interesting to say the least.

A friend of mine got an email from Jeremy, asking if he wanted to schedule another interview, three years later. Joke is on OO, he's already a captain somewhere else.

A little desperate today. Hopeless tomorrow. Good luck out there, management. Great idea.

The question of pilot staffing and applicants was brought up several times in the SKYW earnings call this morning, and without offering specific numbers, Chip said we're "good" for 6 or 7 months. He did say that they've budgeted to lose 20 per month to attrition, and that they're having to work a little harder to find quality applicants. So in light of recent news, this idea of trying to "swipe" pilots from RAH, especially the disillusioned junior ones, seems entirely plausible. And from a business power play standpoint, maybe not a bad idea. We'll see if it works.

Also, pretty good earnings call. I thought it was more informative than usual. I think it'd be good listening even if you don't work at SkyWest, just to hear what's going on.

Can anyone tell me how senior PHX is for SkyWest?

It would be hard for a new hire to get there in the next 2-3 years.. And it may not even be a base after the end of the year. All the planes in PHX come off contract at the end of 2014

Thank you. I had heard that they had increased the size of the PHX base, so some real info is helpful.

Anyway, there goes that thought. :) I'll just continue commuting to a NE outstation so I can not get paid when half of my trip cancels.
