Would be interested to compare schedules with other carriers since 117 took effect.
I'm at L-XJT, ORD FO, bidding about 40% in base. For February my schedule is (total of 14 days off): Day trip Two day --Day off-- Two day Day trip --Day off-- Three day --Day off-- --Day off-- Four day --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Day trip --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Day trip --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- |
Mines easy this month:
17 day trip --13 days off-- |
Example for a 4-5 year pilot at PSA Airlines
February awarded line for 30% in base. 16 Days Off. Before potentially trading a four day for a 1 day, down to 65 hours credit if desired during Schedule Adjustment Period. Then potentially picking up as many days as liked during the Seniority Award at time and a half. --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Previous Month --Day off-- Start of Current Month Three Day --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Three Day --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Four Day --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Four Day --Day off-- Last day of month --Day off-- Start of Next Month --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Now that is just a basic line. The good part is the trading and schedule adjusment. For example during the Schedule Adjustment Period (SAP) at PSA a pilot is awarded this line with 16 days off, and he can drop down to 65 hours credit by trading a 4 day for a 1 day trip. He now has 19 days off, and 65ish hours of credit. Now the final award has come out after round two of bidding (reserve and buildup lines) and the Seniority Award portion of the contract/schedule bidding has opened. This pilot can now trade his 1 day trip for a four day trip. He can also just pickup a four day trip if he likes working... Let's say he finds a nice 23 hour four day trip which will be credited to his schedule at time and a half with a minimum of four hours at time and half per day. He now has 15 days off crediting 99.5 hours, and that is before the month begins in which he receives block or better leg by leg. That was a simple example. Pilots at PSA are easily crediting 120 hours a month with more complex trades, and adds. Trading four day trips for all one day trips, or 2 two days. All kinds of combinations. With all the movement lately as well the senior FOs schedules are being dumped into open-time, and the premium flying goes to the junior FOs. |
Bidding 82% in base.
87 hour line. 13 days off. Four Day --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- Four Day --Day off-- --Day off-- Four Day --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Day off-- --Vacation Day-- Day trip Four Day --Day off-- --Day off-- |

March bid period (Mar 2- Mar 31) 13 days off with 81 hrs of credit. 4 x 4 day trips and one 2-day trip (I could have held a 14 days off line, but I bidded down to get a line that I wanted for particular days off). |

Eagle FO here.
I know out company is still trying to get our schedules to work. There has been talk of more 4 days and little of anything else. I know commutability has suffered with our lines. However this month I had back to back 2 day trips with typically 3 days off in between. I've also noticed longer sits in our schedules too. But like I said it's very dynamic just now and they are still trying to find what works. Oh yeah and we have brought back CDO's into our schedules which are nice if you live close to base. |
L-ASA FO (top 20%)
3 Off 4 On 6 Off 3 On 5 Off 3 On 2 Off 6 On (back to back 3-days going into March) 98:30 hours to start the month Would give it up for a new job or even an upgrade (g-d forbid they would ever upgrade anyone here) |
These look a lot better than the Mesa lines in CLT.

Bidding 40% Capt in base ~80hours/14 off; I prefer 3-5 day trips for commuting purposes. We just got electronic PBS after having manual PBS, so we're all still getting used to the system.
