38 Northwest CRJ900s for Skywest?
 

Has anyone else heard the rumor that SkyWest was awarded the 38 900s for Northwest as well as the Frontier Flying (ASA probably)? The buzz around here is that its pretty much 99% certain and from the high ups. Just wondering if anyone has heard.

I also heard that skywest got most of the Delta RFP. That will be split up between both the airlines

I find it hard to believe DAL would put as much on Skywest as was previously on Comair, ala 2001. Maybe they are less scared of a non-union pilot group after the whipping they got at the hands of Comair ALPA in 2001...

There are all kinds of rumors out there...but I'm almost 100% sure those airplanes are going to Mesaba. I doubt Atkin would play NWA's game like the little red tails currently do.

Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see...when you read it in a press release think it might happen, when you see it on the ramp or get in the cockpit only then can you be sure its a reality.

Where did you hear these rumors? I had heard the Frontier flying might go to ASA but I have also heard XJT.

If Jack Bauer was on the case, he would neutralize everyone in his way and then torture those that know who is going to do the flying until they talked.

Lol...is that what the new season's plot is going to be?

Pinnacle's asa announcement supposedly is comming shortly according to our distinqueshed ceo Phil Trenary (see Commercialappeal.com) and according to Mr. Trenary, we will be "very pleased" with it. I interpret it as we get the 17 200s...I still think the 36 900s go to Mesaba. It makes no sense to go to anyone besides them, pinnacle, or compass

When was this article written, I only see one from before thanksgiving when he said it could be wrapped up by thanksgiving.

Pinnacle Airlines jumps to new high

Shares of Pinnacle Airlines Corp. surged to a 52-week high Thursday, after an analyst said the carrier it may be close to a new regional service agreement with Northwest Airlines Corp.

Memphis, Tenn.-based Pinnacle's ( Nasdaq: PNCL) stock jumped 44 cents, or 4.2 percent, to $10.74 in morning trading on the Nasdaq. Shares reached as high as $10.95 earlier in the session, topping their prior 52-week high of $10.71 set Wednesday.

Eagan-based Northwest ( Pink Sheets: NWACQ), which is restructuring under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, has been seeking lower costs from regional carriers, which feed passengers from smaller cities into Northwest's hubs in Detroit, Minneapolis and Memphis.

Calyon Secrities analyst Ray Neidl upgraded Pinnacle to "Add" from "Neutral" while boosting his target price to $12 from $9, saying the two companies "may be close to reaching a satisfactory agreement."

In a research note, Neidl wrote that once Pinnacle and Northwest can agree on a new contract, the market will assign a higher multiple to Pinnacle's projected earnings because of its more predictable earnings.

The analyst wrote that he no longer believes Northwest will wait for Pinnacle to reach a new contract with its own pilots before making a deal, "as Northwest is anxious to tie up this lose end to enable the carrier to exit bankruptcy early next year."

Neidl is looking for Pinnacle to earn $1.75 per share in 2007, compared with Wall Street's overall view of $1.60, according to an analyst poll by Thomson Financial.
