Call from XJet

Out of the blue, I got a call from XJet saying they wanted to set up an interview. I say out of the blue because the last time I filled out an application for them was in June 2011. I've long since moved on from flying, but I don't even have 1500 total time so why would they be calling me for an interview? I thought the new ATP rule went into effect last August. Have they received some sort of waiver?

They're going through their old applications

Sounds like they're desperate.

They will do interviews at 500 hours, so that may be why.

They might think you meet restricted ATP mins and can "charm" your into it.

What are you doing now (if you don't mind me asking on a public forum)? :)

There is no waiver yet, however this is one way to attract applicants before other carriers get to them.

Not I, but I did interview there in 2010. Maybe that's why I didn't get an invite....:D

How would they know how much time you've amassed since then?

I have no idea. The last time I updated that application was June 2011 and I had about 1270 hours. Since that application was a free one on AirlineApps.com, it expired after a year and that was some time during 2011 as well. Maybe they just took a flier that I had 1500 hours? I'm actually not too far from 1500, but I have no idea how this came about.

Someone else wondered what I am doing these days. Well, I work for my Father. It's a small manufacturer's rep business. It's not exciting like I always thought airline flying would be, but that's life.
