I should have just started a seperate thread for stupid questions. Why so many negative comments about Air Wisconsin... They seem to have great pay/benes. The domiciles aren't exactly what I'd be interested in, but a guy could commute to DCA/PHL easy enough I'm sure.

And what is the upgrade time there?

I was looking at Comair because of their recent visit to the school I'm looking into and it says that a reserve pilot is to be and this is quote from their website:

New Pilots are assigned to reserve flying and must be available to fly on a 14-hour standby basis when on reserve. While on reserve, pilots must be able to report to work with a minimum of 90 minutes notice. Reserve pilots can plan on 11 to 12 days off a month, and will be on reserve for the first 10 to 14 months of employment .

The thing that concerns me is the 90 minutes of notice? If you don't live at the domicile how are you supposed to be available in 90 minutes? Anyone work for Comair? How are they to work for?

Again thank you all for being so patient with me!

While on reserve you do live at the domicile. Thats where crash pads come into play.

Default pension

Anything as far as pension plans? Any airline in the reginals have a pension plan? Majors or Legacy offer it? I work for Wal-Mart and when our associates bring up pensions they say that their 401k and profit sharing is very comparable to a pension. I think I'd rather have a pension plan.

Haven't been reading the news much eh? Most legacy's pensions have been dumped. Regionals want to stay away from them at all costs. A solid 401(k) match is the best you are going to get at the regional level.

Default SkyWest Update

I forgot about the performance and financial rewards that we get after being with the company for a while.

************************************************** ************
Performance Rewards is SkyWest Airlines new way for employees to share in the operational and financial success of the company. With Performance Rewards, we can receive payouts for meeting our operational performance goals each quarter, and we will receive payouts for our financial performance on a quarterly basis — 1% or above added to considered earnings on a point-per-point basis.

The program began January 1, 2005 and has two parts:

Operational Performance Reward: Employees with one or more years of service are eligible for this piece, which is designed to foster the SkyWest TEAM culture by rewarding performance in four areas:
Completion
On-time
Baggage
Passenger Satisfaction

Financial Performance Reward: Employees with two or more years of service are eligible for this piece, which allows employees to share in the financial success of the company.

Anyone care to share some new contract info? We CAN'T let this thread die. It's a good one.

I'd like to see Eagle, ASA, PNCL, and any others not yet listed.

ANYONE?

Deadheading is when you are being transported to or from an assignment and (hopefully) being paid for it. You are not flying the airplane. If I remember correctly, Eagle pays 75% of your normal hourly rate while deadheading.
