first class medical at interview

i have a few interviews in a little while and it says to bring a current first class medical. i have a current 1st which is downgraded to second class for the second 6 months. one interview is on the 11th and my doc is on vacation and have it scheduled for the 15th to renew my first. Its kind of an odd question, should i call them up tell them beforehand about my situation or just wait until the day of the interview. one of them is skywest and i heard they will turn you away if you dont have all the correct paperwork that day. it would seem kinda cheesy to turn me away in my situation. could any skywest people advise on this, should i give cassidy a call and tell her or just show up for the interview?

i don't work for skywest but was in a similar situation when i was getting ready to interview with Comair. I called HR ans was told that I needed a current first class. (1st calss priv's). I've heard of people being turned away at the XJT interview for not having a current medical. I would call. my .02. Good Luck

You need a current first for SkyWest

I wouldn't call HR. Just schedule a medical exam with a different Doc. Unless you have some serious medical problems that can only be addressed by your Doc who is on vacation this is the best solution.

I have to agree. Just get it done anyway you can.

nothing serious, but people have specific doctors for reasons

If you are serious about the job, then you will get the first class before going. Otherwise, you are telling the people that you interview with that their request for the 1st class is not important in your opinion. Sure, it is nitpicky, but they are the ones hiring you. If you do not want to go through the trouble of getting exactly what they request, then you are wasting your time, as well as theirs by showing up for the interview. You are also cheating your fellow pilots, who are waiting on the interview and could show up in your place, just because you feel that you can make up the requirements yourself.

Nice avatar of Henrietta on the Electrolux!

Yep, try to find a way if at all possible to get it done. No sense in leaving even the tiniest chink in your armor.
