PenAir

Anyone on here got recent experience with PenAir in Anchorage? From what I can tell so far, they seem like a regional that doesn't have the drama of the regionals down here….

Best darn regional Airline this side of the Mississippi!

(but stay at ANC, they have chocolate chip cookies, the BOS base only has pretzels)

How does the pay work? I see something about a base salary, then adding hourly on top of that. But I also see an hourly rate. How much does the Anchorage base fly?

Pay is all hourly now. The base plus hourly thing is gone. In the summer you will time out every month. Rest of the year 80 plus hours. You will time out probably every month/quarter/year etc. No clue about BOS. There is no union. I am not saying that is good or bad.

Thank you. I appreciate the info. I enjoy my rotational schedule, but being home every night sounds awesome.

All hourly at what rate?

Do they hire direct captains?

Where do they do recurrent? Do they have their own sim? I don't think there's a Flight-Safety in Alaska

You are surprised a state larger than half of entire lower 48 that uses airplanes to get around has a FSDO? In the scheme of things you should and should not be surprised by, I'd say this would be a "not surprising".

How much are people crediting per month? Is first year pay $25/hr?
