bassslayer 01-03-2007 07:44 AM

Nevermind, Big misunderstanding!!

Speedbird172 01-03-2007 07:50 AM

Haha, I have a friend in the Jan 8 class, good job I read that second post before I gave him an alarming phone call! I'm sure he would have found out anyway....glad it didn't come to that anyway. I'm curious to find out how things work out there, hopefully things look up and all goes well for you guys.

bassslayer 01-03-2007 07:55 AM

Is there a way to delete this thread?

cyrcadian 01-03-2007 07:59 AM

What happened anyway? Why did they call, what did they say, etc?

Glad to hear you are still in class. When do you start?

PM me if you need any help.

buffalopilot 01-03-2007 08:38 AM

why would you say class is cancelled then change your post??

drummflyer 01-03-2007 09:00 AM

Gee, thanks for the scare of my life. I wish I would have read the second post before lunch!

TristarJS30 01-03-2007 09:10 AM

I'll second that. I start Comair Monday and that was not a pleasant way to start my day.

buffalopilot 01-03-2007 09:15 AM

I am starting mon too, any of you guys flying there, and did Comair send you a space avail ticket yet?

drummflyer 01-03-2007 09:17 AM

I'm driving.

lowflyby 01-03-2007 09:18 AM

I talked with Lauri last week and she told me that they would send me a space avail. ticket via email this week...haven't received it yet though. Boy that was a scare seeing that on there! Can't wait to meet all you guys next week...so you all on Monday!

buffalopilot 01-03-2007 09:28 AM

In the info packet, it mentions that the Tues following starting class, they fly your wife or soemone out for a tour and a seminar and lunch. Is that still happening and details on what day they fly them out and back home?

drummflyer 01-03-2007 09:32 AM

Buffalo,
If I remember right, Lori said that 'family day' is usually the Tuesday following in-processing. In-processing lasts the first couple of days. So I assume that 'family day' will be the Tues the 16th. I'm sure we'll hear more about it on Monday.

TristarJS30 01-03-2007 09:47 AM

When did everyone interview? I was there on the 6th.

de727ups 01-03-2007 09:59 AM

I tried to modify this thread a bit guessing at what the thread starter would like to see. I hate to delete the whole thing cause there is useful info here. If bassslayer still wants it deleted, PM me.

lowflyby 01-03-2007 10:51 AM

I interviewed on Dec. 7th. The info packet I got, if I remember correctly says that "family day" is 2 weeks from your orientation(1st week), so I would think it would be later than the 16th.

bassslayer 01-03-2007 11:51 AM

Sorry guys. Don't worry about deleting it as it has good info here now. I just didn't want to scare everyone. I had an extremely nasty prank pulled on me today.

bassslayer 01-03-2007 12:18 PM

When did you guys recieve your info packets? I start on the 16th and haven't recieved anything yet.

lowflyby 01-03-2007 12:37 PM

I didn't receive mine until last week...so only about a week and a half before...I called up just to make sure it was on the way. Also, for anyone else starting on the 8th, do you guys understand what all the different forms means, because there are some that I don't, and I don't want to fill them out incorrectly. Should I just wait until orientation to fill them out? (only 3-4 forms)

TristarJS30 01-03-2007 06:29 PM

I filled them all out. Was confused about the state taxes... just find the state tax for where your PERMANENT address is, so I had to print out the New York tax sheet. Not too hard, I left a few blanks too (like start date and employee number.)

cessna126 01-04-2007 02:57 AM

Your date of hire is the date that you start class. Your employee number will be givin to you your first day. Your department is Flight Ops, position is FO. Your base (for purposes of this paperwork) is CVG. And the division is Northern. Thos were all the spots that I left blank. Also, make sure you have a copy of your birth certificate if you are adding your parents to your travel benifits.

lowflyby 01-04-2007 06:10 AM

Thanks for the help. Also, what is the time frame from the time you start training until you are on IOE. Is it two months? I'm just trying to figure out where I'll be in my training come March 11th, if I started on Jan. 8th....my wife and I are expecting a baby, that's why I ask.

buffalopilot 01-04-2007 06:42 AM

approx 67 days for jan 8th is ioe

any ticket yet to fly to training?

lowflyby 01-04-2007 06:46 AM

ok thanks...nope not yet. If it's not here by tomorrow morning I'm calling them since they'll be closed for the weekend. Do you start monday too?

buffalopilot 01-04-2007 06:51 AM

i called laura the past 2 days and she did not call back regarding the ticket

freezingflyboy 01-04-2007 06:51 AM
