Confused about 9E

Can someone explain it to me please. You guys have a golden ticket to the mighty delta and you guys are complaining? 7 year upgrades, really? If I were hired today I would be willing to bet it wouldn't be 7 years after half of you leave for delta and the other half leave for other regionals, sun country, spirit, Etc. So the pay is bad, Isn't this regional job a stepping stone?
If I were looking for a regional job. I would be happy to work for 9E if my goal was to get to a major. I have heard Delta seems committed to making 9e successful. So is it all about the reduction of airplanes? Are your schedules bad too? What is the deal. Sick of all the negativity

hahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahaa. best troll ever.

Saabs 08-27-2014 12:59 AM

Flaaaaaaame bait. Good news is regionals are becoming stepping stones again with everyone hiring.

PerpetualFlyer 08-27-2014 01:43 AM

Lol. Not sure if troll, or just plain stupid.

until the percentage of people being hired by Deltoid verses "thanks but no thanks," increases to better than just a coin toss... people will continue to leave here and 9E will continue to downgrade people and park planes. why would people come here to get stuck and have to start all over again somewhere else. this could all turn around of course and people would be kicking down doors to work here once Delta has run through the list and enough people have left for other opportunities. but it may be too little too late and the bankruptcy ontract cut too deep for people to consider working here right now.

Tom, is that you?
That "golden ticket" we were sold has proven to be mostly fools gold. At least Eagle/Envoy is a guaranteed class date and PSA has been getting their guys hired at over 95%... here Delta only takes about 45%. Delta doesn't want us. Delta wants to use our bankruptcy contract to cut what they pay to the rest of DCI. After that, we are useless and likely will be shut down. Then they could take the planes they want and start up a new regional and hire "Delta material" to fill it with a guarantee of a job at Delta after X number of years.
Check back in 2 years and see how close this is to the truth.

If they are truly committed then they need to show it. Hire the guys like they promised or give up a flow like aa is. After a flow this place will be 100% the place to go. The negative comments will disappear. but we all know that delta will never give up the flow. They care more about image then the actual employees who gave up so much for delta. It's sad.

We received a few hundred EtD apps, but only single digit numbers made it through the interview.

Put your money where your mouth is....I dare you to apply to 9E and watch the magic happen. You will be ready to jump off the ledge of the Endeavor Building within a month of working there. You're either a mainline guy who went directly to Delta via the military (not all mainline guys are clueless...but it always amazes me to have a Delta jumpseater who gets in the cockpit and says "So...you're Compass? I'm not sure I've ever heard of you") or you aren't involved in aviation at all. You can't make this stuff up...holy crap.

flyingreasemnky 08-27-2014 06:21 AM

Rumor is that Delta was hiring a PR firm to improve the image of 9E on pilot message boards. I'm guessing this is just the start.

Here's one of Bob's other posts about working at a Major:

Oh my gosh where do I start- btw I was at a regional for several years. First off retirement, you don't feel as fatigued anymore, you have nice hotels, you have a contract that is better in (almost) every single way, retirement, did I say retirement? Pay, layovers in cool cities, diversity of flying, better standing on the non-rev list, retirement, working for a company that owns its own destiny... The list could go on and on. I am flying places now that I never thought I would go. It is awesome and I hope my many regional friends will get to experience the same joy I have found from this job. Plus I don't have to be embarrassed anymore when someone asks me where I work with a drawn out explanation of what a delta connection or united express is
