Horizon has been operating for years as Frontier Jet Express flying the CR7; Mesa was doing it before that. RAH replacing QX's CRJ-700s with E170s still leaves Frontier at status quo. Nothing has changed.

Everyone please feel free to ignorantly bash RAH, regional pilots, Frontier pilots, Frontier management, Lynx pilots, broke CFIs, your neighbor's dog, ALPA and the number 7 for all the ills of the world.

You are a sad excuse for a human... Enjoy your big jet. I can garuntee that every captain you fly with absolutely hates you because you are a terrible excuse for any sort of reality. I'm sure you make every other female aviator very proud... keep up the good work! You really need to get a grasp on reality.

Get A Life... a little humility goes a long way. Please show some respect. There is no need for your attitude. NO ONE ASK YOU!!!!!

Congrats to Republic

So why did they get rid of QX? They had the CRJ700s, which are just as good as the E70s

Isn't the E170 a little more passenger friendly than the CRJ700? My expericne has led me to that conclusion, but I suppose there is probably something more important like operating costs and what not.

Based solely on QX's payscale, they have to be more expensive... why did CAL choose RAH over XJT?

Mutual Parting of ways.

That's it.

Exactly. QX pulled planes for their own operation, Frontier looked to replace them. This flying did not "belong" to anyone else before RAH picked it up.

In my opinion, the E-170/190 were designed to fix what was wrong with the first generation RJ's: They were cramped and had little carry-on space. This became an issue when RJ's started serving longer routes than originally intended.

The downside, as I understand it, is that the E-series was designed when oil cost $25/bbl and wider cabin naturally creates more drag, causing the E series to burn significantly more gas than CRJ's...ooops There have also been reliability problems, but this may be normal new-entry bugs which will be resolved soon.

what's your excuse? At least my ambitions are high. I guess yours cease at the regional level. have fun!

HotMamaPilot 01-07-2007 06:04 AM

oh, how mistaken you are. I know at least a dozen peops who will NEVER leave their E170 seat. it's sad.

wild4theuniform 01-07-2007 06:18 AM

WOW. While I detest HMP's superior attitude and cringe nearly every time I read one of her snotty posts, you, Mr. Jetrecruiter, have crossed the line. As a woman, I am more than a little offended by your vulgar language. I think you owe the ladies of the forum an apology. Hopefully, the "gentlemen" of this forum agree with me.... :(

groovinaviator 01-07-2007 06:34 AM

Apparently you as a person are defined by the airplane you fly?

My Excuse? Excuse for what?... Oh my excuse for being 3 times as far in my career by this age than you probabaly were? I Have already experienced things in my career that you never will... Have you ever stalled a jet on purpose as part of certification testing? Ever done first flights on biz jets, King Air's and pistons, straight out of the factory? I have experience in more than twice as many aircraft as you do... oh yeah, but apparently I have no ambitions! If you only knew the connections (non airline) I have. What about your ambitions... seems they are pretty "typical" to me... there is nothing wrong with what are you doing, but not too original or exciting either. the only thing about you or your career that is abnormal is your attitude. You fly for UPS right... who cares?!! So do a lot of other equally if not more qualified pilots.

You have no idea what my ambitiions are, but I can promise you that they are more worth while than flying a "real big" jet. Do you have any sort of worthwhile purpose in your life? I believe that you do, but you aren't making a real good case for yourself here. What if my ambitions were to be a missionary pilot in the jungles of South America.. according to you that's not a "real big" jet and therefore not valid, where as the rest of us would probably find that a noble cause. Someday if I can take care of a family better as a Regional Captain with good schedules and decent pay, you better believe I will "settle" as you say for not missing a kids Piano recital or baseball game. I have no idea your situation but if you really think that your career or even the airlines are the only thing in life, than you can have it. Enjoy your sorry exsistence. For me, my career will always take a back seat to a family or anything else of real value. I love to fly and I am not going to let you belittle my passion because of what I fly, or may fly someday. A 747-400 captain is no better than a C210pilot flying in the jungles of cambodia, or even better than a Career RJ pilot that makes decent money and is there for his family.

To the rest who read this... I apologize for even giving HMP a response... it only seems to fuel her arrogance.

That's VERY funny, B, but I am quite disheartened to see that no one took Jetrecruiter to task for his highly offensive language... Hmmmm.. :(

I'll agree that the language was out of line... but in comparison with what HMP has said on occasion, it barely registers a radar blip- with no Mode C :D
