So basically it's as valuable as right seat time in a King Air? And we all know airlines are tripping over themselves grabbing up people with King Air SIC.

Regionals could care less what you have as long as its legal to log. Logging SIC in a King Air is perfectly legal if you are required per the opspecs that it operated under. Part 91 ops prob shouldn't be logged but part 135 is absolutely loggable.

Scheduled 135 commuter operators REQUIRE an SIC for IFR ops. You MAY substitute an operable autopilot in lieu of an SIC.

Crap! You mean this King Air SIC is not useful
Seriously though - I'm thinking that even if the 'shortage' does present itself, the majors are not going to need to pick up piston PIC time. I'm sure the time is valuable to a certain point such as TT, PIC time overall (though I'm sure the majors will still want turbine PIC any time soon), P121 experience, stick and rudders skills, etc....

Just a hypothetical.. but assuming they both paid the same, would you rather fly PIC in 402s for Cape Air or PIC in a King Air flying jumpers? also let me add... or SIC for a turboprop regional with little movement throughout the company.

What would look better on the resume?

Multi Turbine PIC in the King Air is my guess/choice.
It seems to be triple threat of time.

Well the point of the right seat time is to build time until you hit ATP mins, at which point you go right into upgrade training so it does serve a purpose for those looking to go that route.

Its sad that hauling people up and down, even if burning Jet A, trumps IFR ops in four seasons of WX....

Yup, or that some think right seat regional time does too. It's night and day in terms of difficulty.

Not piston twin time alone, no. All airlines want glass and jet time since the learning curve is steep, and there has been a tremendous washout rate recently. Notwithstanding, 9K pilots have left for B6, VX, and others, all had former jet time. I can tell you this, there is going to be a lot of movement at 9K in the next month or so.
