12/4 Starting to make sense

I've been trying to figure out if AAG truly believes that nobody is going to be at the regionals in 8 years, why is the 12/4 payscale so non negotiable?

And now it's come to light that Scott Kirby just told the APA pilots at the ORD meeting they will offer delta rates + 3% on the upcoming TA. But they want scope relief (89 seats for regionals) in return.

I believe if they can get the relief then we will all end up stuck at the regionals for much longer then any of us expect.

I "think" enough mainline pilots have gotten the clue that scope giveaways are a bad deal in the longrun...

Bad for job security for the bottom 20%. Bad for upgrades for the next 30%. Hopefully that's enough folks to carry the day.

The top 10% will give away anything and everything for a $1 raise. Hell, they'd give away all of the narrowbodies in exchange for a starbucks gift card...what do they have to lose?

Delta rate plus 3% is a big carrot.

History does repeat itself. I hope I'm wrong.

How many 89-seaters?

What's your proof? Serious question. Thanks.

Very good point, I hope very much for the industry's sake that they don't give up scope, but those guys have sold scope for less before.

APA is currently doing information sessions (base visits) in Airways bases. True, Kirby was fishing for scope. APA said in each base that scope will not be relaxed.

89 seat aircraft will be ordered in large numbers.
Scope change will be given for delta + 3% and PROFIT SHARING. As they APA have been told no profit sharing but that is negotiable as is scope. quid pro quo.

limited hiring at AA cover percentage of retirements and the stagnation at AA and screeching halt to regional flow through, now the 12/4 cap makes sense to all, which is what i have been saying.

The fun has just begun.

Regional payrates will extend to the majors now. The cats out of the bag, regional pilots will do and agree to anything. In 10 years, regional airlines will account for 60-65% of all airline flying.

It's no longer about stopping scope giveaways, the battle is getting them back where the flying belongs.

PSA pilots without knowing or intending may have struck a far more serious blow to the profession than anyone realized or could predict. 12/4 represents extreme danger.

that is why envoy pilots voted no, because there were other management motives. now the truth comes out. you will be at the regionals for longer than you expected and this without any catastrophic event.
