RAH new hire questions

Hi all,

Any update on when we might hear of a new contract for RAH pilots? I was speaking to a Shuttle Am. FO yesterday and talk was that FO pay will start at $30/hr for year one and finally cancellation pay. Anyone else hear anything similar?

I have classes within the next month and a half to fly the Dash8 for C5 or the 170 for Shuttle. I need to make a decision soon and I fear I may be suffering from shiny jet syndrome.

I like the 2 year upgrades, contract, and almost guaranteed and EWR base working for C5.

For shuttle, I would really prefer to fly the 170, and if there is any truth about a new contract soon, I think I will roll the dice and go with republic. There just hasn't been any positive feedback about working for Republic in any of these forums.

Are there any benefits of possibly flying with RAH over C5?

C5, is that commutair?
No disrespect to them, but come on. Where do you think you would have more opportunities? The answer is simple.

I would be very careful about RAH and a "possible" contract. All you have to do is look at the regional industry to see all the instances of contract negotiations that went on and on and on only to find the results weren't what everyone expected them to be. You have a sure thing with C5. A minimum of 3 more years of contracted flying for United with the Dash, a decent contract since the passage of the LOA, and a good pilot/management group. If RAH gets a contract 6 months down the road you can bail from C5 with no penalty since there is no training contract.

Right, the simple answer is CommutAir. Upgrades less than 2.5 years, $30/hr first year pay, 4 free hotels in base per month, and a small pilot group. That small group means more opportunities and less competition to get into the training department as a ground school instructor, line check airman, or sim instructor. Those are great resume builders.

I'd bet you dollars to donuts that given both companies call you with a class date on the same day that you and 99/100 people would choose RAH. Don't try to BS yourself.

Your probably right, and you can count my undecided in that 99% too..

Under the pay notes for CommutAir on this site, there says theres a contractual pay raise for Dec 2014...will this increase FO pay??
