Should I Gamble???

Got the email today from Comair inviting me up for an interview? Should I take it, or should I wait another 3 months, where I'll be able to go to any regional. In 3 months I'd be able to go to CHQ, Sky West, or Express Jet. Or Comair now? ShouldI gamble?

if you go to comair now, and finish training, then in two months, you'll be more qualified to go to any regional you want than you will be if you stick around your current place for 3 monts. But that's my opinion, passing the 121 checkride can be a heck of a "come fly for us" stamp on your resume'.

Interview everywhere, its good experience. Just because you interview doesn't mean you will get hired or have to take the job if one is offered. I would caution you against the guys who say go to one airline and then go to another a few months later. Pay during training SUCKS (and you thought life as a CFI was bad) so if you can afford to make next to nothing 4 months a year, then go nuts. Otherwise I'd say stick with what you're doing until you can go somewhere you really want to be.

this whole aviation crap is a gamble..roll the dice..

Interview...

If they offer you the job, take it. Comair could just as well sign a new contract to avoid a strike, and follow DL out of bankruptcy.

If you get furloughed, boom...you can go to any regional and basically guarenteed a job...you would have already passed the CRJ training and ASA would blow their load over a guy like that.

Good luck...

Never turn down an interview.

Except at Scenic.

Interview first, then think about working for them if you get offered a job. It is your offer to lose at this point.

Roll 'em

Roll the dice, Comair used to be cream of the crop... Even with concessions they are still looking better than some of the other regionals..... Your first interview can be hell on the nerves so go and try to gain something from it.
