ASA transfers to Skywest?
Can anyone at ASA or Skywest confirm or deny the rumor that Skywest will take over the remaining SLC 700's sometime this summer?

ASA closed the SLC base, they deadhead crews from atlanta. The only reason they stopped was because they couldn't handle what they were getting |
And by that he means, no he can not confirm that. We have no reason to believe that SkyWest will be taking anymore flying/jets from ASA. In fact, with any luck, SkyWest INC will be providing both companies with new planes from the current Delta RFP. But that's just my own hopes.

ASA's APLA threaten to file an injunction stating that the transfer of a/c from ASA to SKW during ASA's negotiations for a new pilot contract (TA) is illegal under the RLA (Railway Labor Act). SKW didn't want to battle the issue (they would have lost) and has decided to hold off the rest of the transfers until the contract has been completed. Once the ASA TA is completed SKW will continue the transfers and that is when the majority of restructuring (of both airlines) will happen.
I’m certain that over the next year or so the bigger picture will become clear and it will lead to a bright future for both airlines and their employees. |
