Whipsaws exist in every industry that is based upon contracts! You can stop it with a vote as well as you can stop the rule of "supply and demand" with a vote!

Here's another hint: let's say you just upgraded to Captain, and Verizon finds out about it. If Verizon comes to you and decides to raise your rates just because your income went up, do you pay it or tell them to pound sand and go with AT&T?

Translation: the reason that major airline pilot groups are getting raises and we're not is because Anderson, Smisek, and Parker can't just move that flying elsewhere like they can with us.

And just get hired at a major? And leave for a miserable QOL part 135 job? Your attitude suggests there are many other possibilities for aviators, when in reality there aren't.

There are many regional pilots who believe that staying at a regional is a better way to the majors than going to a part 135 operator. You are correct; there really aren't that many options for those of us trying to go to the majors.

By next year the 3 legacies, FedEx, and SWA will probably be hiring a combined monthly total of 400 or more. I'm sure most regional guys will have shots at jobs in the next few years. The way they are aligning with regionals (Endeavor and Envoy) though, you may be limited on getting a job with the one you want depending upon where you work.
