A great man (Roosevelt) once said, “I’d rather fail at something I love than succeed at something I hate.”

We only have one life so follow your dreams, but try to take calculated steps with measured risk.

Not that I would go to work for Mesa but doesn't mesa have ALPA for there union and if they do the pilots aren't required to do anything outside of there contract. So it sounds to me like ALPA isn't doing anything for the pilots but taking there money.

let's be realistic, like groovinaviatior said, with a couple hundred posts on this forum you can't honestly say that you don't know what the deal with mesa is. if that's the case then learn to use the search function and you will find everything you need to know without having to throw this garbage flame bait out there for people to go nuts on.

you know as well as i that this thread was started in an attempt to restart the b!tching that people rant on and on about this company on this forum. you just figured it hasn't been a hot topic lately so why not start it back up again.

now if i'm completely off base for my comments then, ummm, no i can't say i'm sorry. ignorance is bliss!

No,

you are incorrect. I am not one of these 22 year old trying to start crap I dont even know what flame bait means. I dont have the time for that stuff. I ask honestquestions, now if you dont want to give me honest answers fel free not to post an answer at all. I didnt ask anyone to post negativity. If you dont have an answer than ignore the post. If you want to be helpful than answer. Its really just that simple. Thank you.

Understand that ALPA is there to assist with organizing and legal representation. They DO NOT NEGOTIATE THE TA; they provide valuable information about the company (Finances) and assist with legal verbiage (loop holes). XJT is ALPA and look at their TA. Remember that ALPA is not the negotiator and the ability of your MEC (your fellow pilots) to negotiate a good TA is dependent on your company’s current standing and willingness to respect its labor group. JO at Mesa, if they didn’t have ALPA to protect them with a legal TA under the RLA, would have his pilots working for Great Lakes pay.

I do have a plan. If the airline thing doesnt work out, I will go back to poliving and fly for law enforcement. I can aford to buy and maintain an airplane. I have wanted to be a pilot since I was a kid (although my original goal was a military pilot not airline)

I agree but there are way too many JERK 0FF$ who feel that it is their right to belittle the less informed because they are one or two steps ahead of you, regardless of their and your education background.

The only way to become informed is research and asking questions. Use the search function on MESA and it will answer all your questions. Just take a little time and you'll soon realize why Mess-A isn't worth your time.
