Who is hiring without a current ATP written?

I'm searching around and can only find two regionals that will hire without a current ATP written. Express jet and Skywest are the only two that I have found that will send someone to the CPC before being hired. Does anyone have info on other companies who will send someone to the CPC?

ExpressJet will, and will put you through a course to accomplish the written. Some others (PSA) will give you a conditional offer based on completion of the written at a cost of about 5k down in Florida somewhere.

I really hope no pilot will pay for this out of his own pocket. If 2 regionals are paying for it, then just wait until the others follow.

Horizon has just started interviews without an ATP written... My understanding is they will send you to a CTP course.

That is great news. I hope pilots stick together and refuse to cough up our own money for this.

SongMan 02-13-2015 06:11 PM

TSA does...that's whst I see on their web.

prex8390 02-13-2015 07:30 PM

AWAC says they should have their CTP course approved by the end of the month.

ftorrent 02-13-2015 07:50 PM

Go jet is also doing it

JSDL 02-14-2015 12:44 AM

Endeavor should by summer.

If there is any word on when if Mesa does it id like to know.

airborne840 02-14-2015 08:10 AM

I haven't seen anything on Mesa's website. I'm sure everyone will offer it soon though. It is the new trend to pay for the CPC to entice new hires.

Mesa will probably offer this soon, like everyone else.
But why would you care? Aren't you already in class at mesa?

Beretta01 02-15-2015 01:53 PM

Just got hired with Republic....they're sending us through Aerosim in Orlando for ATP-CTP.

I guess that is one way to do it. Airlines just have you go through a third party. Do you live in Florida and looking for the Miami Republic base?

I do live in FL. Actually sitting in my hotel room for the ATP-CTP course, as we speak. Miami base right off the bat would be awesome, but I don't think it's going to happen....that IS the plan though!

I am in class but that doesn't mean i don't have friends that need to take the ctp course. I am trying to convince one friend to wait for Mesa to get it rather than go to republic or gojet.

5K to take the written?? That's ****ing crazy

Is Republic paying for this?

Affirm.....I'd be nuts to have paid for it out of pocket. No more $20k training contract at Republic. Only stipulation is as follows:

"Additionally, the company has agreed to pay for this listed course provided you start on your training start date. You will otherwise be expected to reinburse the full amount of the class, not to exceed $4,500."

prex8390 02-15-2015 03:29 PM

why didnt people just take the written this summer ?

All I have to do is start training and it appears as if I am in the clear, but I'm fairly confident if I pulled that stunt, I'd be blacklisted as the major d-bag of the year. I'm looking forward to getting into the regionals...regardless of the company. I'm fairly confident RAH is stable and they certainly have a bright future with all of the new a/c....I'm sure it has many negatives but I'm going in expecting the worst, so we'll see!

Jumping to 121 was pretty unexpected, so I didn't have a lot of time to research the forums(in hindsight, it's been a little
intimidating reading about RAH, hopefully it's like RateMyProfessor in the sense that the only people that complain are inherent to it anyways); really just went to the first interview I got and accepted their offer. We'll see how it goes!

Holy sh*t you are serious. You don't know about Republic at all do you. You know they are parking airplanes right? Search this forum for the words "cancellation pay" and start reading!!

I know I was busy getting shot at in Afghanistan last year and didn't really have access to an FAA authorized testing center over there. Not sure on others but I wasn't able to.

Or the best troll post ever.

Kind of a senseless question don't you think?

BahamaBreeze 02-17-2015 12:48 PM

FYI Republic have said they will pay for the ATP-CTP at AeroSim in Orlando, however that cost comes out of the sign-on bonus they offer. So I guess it's cost-neutral to you as a prospective employee. It's probably an advantage over paying for it yourself and being paid the full sign-on bonus because now you're not paying income tax on that ~$5k.

But yes, I'm worried about them parking planes too. Will we see more regionals offering retention schemes?

Original bonus was $7.5k, and w/ ATP CTP a course, it is now $5k....no contract. A good deal, if you ask me. ATP CTP course is $5k itself, not factoring in airfare and 9 nights of hotel.
