Who may open a NYC-area base soon?
Didn't want to post this on an ongoing thread about a specific airline on this forum, however I am looking to change airlines soon.
Does anyone have insight as to who will be the next to open a NYC base? EWR/LGA/JFK/PHL?? I figure with Envoy pulling out, someone has to have something in the works.. Thank you! |
My guess is PSA and/or TSA for the American feed. Things change so rapidly in this biz though that until it's announced don't believe that it'll happen.

Trans States has an employee "Call-in Show" tomorrow. My guess is they announce a new base... I'll keep you posted.
|
Thanks guys

Is Envoy definitely pulling its pilots from NYC?

The timing doesn't support that.
AA apparently hasn't told PDT where we will be flying those jets, just that they'll be here by x-mass. |

There's no way to know for sure.

I always dread the idea of going to a place like NYC if I get on with an airline where that's the junior base. The traffic, the congestion, the absurd cost of living. I imagine just getting to the airport can be a nightmare. I can understand if you're from or have family there, but why the interest in getting based there?
In fact, why do millions of people live there? Honestly asking. A medium sized city with low cost of living seems much more attractive. |

A little time, but more so other large cities.

For now only the EMB base. For the time being Envoy will still have the CRJ base. Envoy pilots were already told that it will be Trans States replacing that flying in NY for the 145's and that Envoy's 145's will be fully removed from NY by the 4th quarter of this year.
Tell the folks that want to be in NY to go else where. Have people that want to be else where (very expensive) go to NY. Now the people that want to be in NYC have to go to their old base to travel to their new base. All the while, new folks are traveling in, to do the same exact flying. Thats the way to endear your employees to you! It's no wonder the USair product sucks. |
