Current 9E Question: ATL overnights?

Question for current Endeavor pilots... do you see many ATL overnights in your trips? If so, can you give me an example of such a pairing?

No... I bid heavy for them, and never get them. Your more likely to overnight in Pasco Washington than ATL.

Four and a half years...not a single ATL overnight. A few turns in and out of there, and maybe an overnight at a nearby outstation...but the ATL overnight is VERY rare.

Just had one there. We had 20 hours on the ground.

You have the luck sir!

I have a 21 hour ATL overnight later this month I would gladly trade for a long PSC. I love PSC and having a cold bev next to the pool before wandering over to Red Robin. Ah...good times.

However, to more directly address the concerns of the OP...this is the first on my schedule...ever....in 7+ years.

(in the old man voice) Back on the Avro (voice over), it was common. Since then, the only time was an unscheduled breakdown/ duty out.

Come on over to my house. My wife's a great cook and
I serve cigars in the hot tub.

I've overnighted in ATL around a half dozen times, although that was on RSV duty, in the last 3 years.

I'm leaving my current regional to begin class at 9E late next month. I have a few questions myself if you guys don't mind answering them.

1. Is there a company provided smartphone app that allows flight crew-members to check their schedules, company messages, and sign in for duty?
2. Is there a set date for the Microsoft surface tablets to be implemented as EFBs? Will they be provided to each pilot or be assigned to each aircraft individually?
3. I understand that this is subject to many factors but, what are best/worst case time frames for a new hire today to upgrade?
4. Is it true that the company is in talks with Delta to negotiate a true flow through?
5. Is morale low, high, improving, decreasing?
6. Is the hotel I stayed at the night before interviewing (Holiday Inn - Eagan) the same one I'd be staying in for training?

Thanks a bunch

1. No but you can check in on your smart phone and check schedules to some degree on your phone via the regular website.
2. Mid 2016 now. Don't hold your breath. Individual most likely.
3. Ask Ms Cleo.
4. No.
5. increasing.
6. No you will get a suite-style hotel with kitchenette, fridge etc and within walking distances of restaurants/Walmart/grocerys etc.

I'll be at the Staybridge Suites, Eagan. Don't know if the entire class will be there.

My recruiter buddy tells me EFBs are not in the cards this year, but maybe a 2016 roll out, upgrades are projected to be within 36 months for new hires who start now, no flow but the company might be announcing a guaranteed interview with Delta for new hires soon (not sure when exactly), and the morale has definitely changed. The retention payments have helped to turn the tides a bit.

For all intents and purposes, 9E looks like a really good choice. Good luck and keep us posted on your experience!

Filled with speculation and rumor.

I'd go with Mooney's assessment.

I think the Hunite app only works with the IPhone. There's something different for Android users. I can't remember what it called

Two final questions

1. Does Endeavor payroll make mistakes on a regular basis with your pay?
My company is notorious for shorting per diem, 401k match amounts and OT pay among other things.

2. Have your schedulers gotten the hang of FAR 117?
We are in constant debate over the legality of assignments. Particularly for those of us on reserve.

I haven't had a problem with either one of your above questions. There was a time in the past where you had to watch your paycheck, a few years ago.

In my experience mistakes still happen. However, they are rare and usually only happen with schedule changes to your trip. Something to do with how it is coded.

I will be starting class next month and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on bringing a car/ anything else out of the ordinary that would be nice to have.

Sushihead 05-16-2015 07:26 AM

There's a lot to see and do in MN, especially during the summer.
