How many hours per month are you flying?

Just curious...How many hours per month are you flying and what company do you work for? I average 55-60 at C5.

Do you mean on reserve? Because I would assume line holders in other carriers have a choice whether to bid high or low credit lines; plus, they should be able to trip trade to accommodate their preference in flying volume for the month.

pilotp151 07-17-2015 07:31 AM

I wasn't thinking that much into it, but you're right there are tons of variables. I was just doing my book, bored in a hotel room and was curious what times others were flying.

yimke 07-17-2015 07:37 AM

ASA -
Line - Bidding Low -50-60 hours almost every month.
Bidding Max- 90-95 but I don't really need the hours or money now.

Reserve - Been a while, but around 40-50, depending on the month. Long call you could get around 60-70. Usually they would work you right up to 75, then like a ugly date, never call you again.

bcpilot 07-17-2015 07:53 AM

At G7, you can fly 75 or 95, it's your choice, you can work how much you want to work. I personally average about 70 hrs per month.

Reserves are flying everyday as well...

pete2800 07-17-2015 10:41 AM

As little as possible.

I turned one week of vacation into 24 consecutive days off this month.

^^^^^^ This!!!

mm1989 07-17-2015 10:48 AM

85-90 at AWAC but I typically pick up and extra day or 2.

Yes! ^^^^^^^^^That's how you do it. I'm putting to Vacation bids together and I'll enjoy the 30 days off in a row and still should get about 80 hrs each month. Winning!!:D

EvilMonkey 07-17-2015 01:29 PM

RAH-Flying 90-95 (picking up day trips from another FO) and crediting 110-120 with reassignments/deadheads due to our managements inability to properly staff.

RonBearerJr 07-17-2015 04:36 PM

I was 83 hrs in May at C5, then switched to standup line for the better commute and fly 45-50 now.

IrishFlyer757 07-17-2015 05:06 PM

I blocked 102:30 to 103:30 the last three months. Credit from 115 to 146.

deltajuliet 07-17-2015 05:09 PM

Block upper 70's, credit low 80's.

Skyhawk92 07-17-2015 05:13 PM

On reserve, last month 17. Currently at 1 hour this month! Love it!

CBreezy 07-17-2015 05:16 PM

I block 70-89 depending on cancelations and credit no less than 95-120

TheFly 07-17-2015 05:44 PM

SKW, 65-ish.

WorkingUp 07-17-2015 05:44 PM

Skyhawk92, where do you work?

deltajuliet 07-17-2015 05:46 PM

To credit that much above block, are you having flights get cancelled, then picking up flying during the same time and getting paid for both?

CBreezy 07-17-2015 05:59 PM

Opentime swaps. Trading a 12 hr 4 day for a 22 hour 4 day at 1.5 does wonders. Plus cancellation pay.

Dare I say...PSA

WorkingUp 07-17-2015 06:27 PM

Okay, I was just curious. If you don't mind me asking - what base? Does it vary a lot from CLT vs. DAY/TYS?

Skyhawk92 07-17-2015 06:39 PM

TYS. I am not exactly sure about the other bases, but have been told TYS reserves get used the least.

Pray i'll get called more than once in the next 4 weeks.

WorkingUp 07-17-2015 06:54 PM

Haha will do, thank you for the info!

How do you pull that off?

Same here, ASA.
CRJ-700/900 CA ATL on Long-Call Reserve, typically block about 25-40 hrs a month. Winter months are usually low, 25 hrs. Summer months 40+ hrs.

tyurchevich 07-18-2015 08:07 AM

OO
108:20 july
103:00 june
103:55 may
103:47 april

I like to work...not a standup fan....might only be one a month. A few trips with deadheads. Mostly locals 2 and 3 days. Perhaps a 4 day if I feel like it.

I tend to max my bid out each month. still avg 13 days off per month.

Extenda 07-18-2015 09:20 AM

Endeavor, on reserve. I do a lot of military leave, but I only did one out and back during the two 4-day reserve stints I did in DTW in June/July.

BurningMan 07-18-2015 10:45 AM

I've blocked 17hrs month-to-date for July. 57 hours of credit. Ready Reserve is the devil.

Why would they staff properly when they've got you, brah?

How long have you been on reserve at Endeavor?

B200 Hawk 07-18-2015 01:19 PM

Less than I'm deadheading...

Yikes, well a long time. I am a 2011 hire. But I have been on military leave for a long time, and just got back to new hire training in February. I wanted to be NYC based but I messed up my bid and got automatically sent to Detroit. I have to wait to get NYC900 on this vacancy then go to transition course. I am deploying in September so I probably won't go through the course until then. I would be holding a line in NYC, and will definitely hold a line when I get back this winter.

ASpilot2be 07-18-2015 02:03 PM

80-90 block, and credit 110 to 120.

Reserve doesn't sound like it'll be too terribly long then, and it sounds like NYC is where all the movement is.
