Are you saying none of us respect ourselves? Or particular airlines? I'd say those that have recently voted down TAs with no net increase in pay/compensation have plenty of self-respect.

More to the point, I am speaking to the paradigm shift that happened over the last 15 years, moving an enormous amount of flying to regionals, including mainline routes and flights over three hours. As a new pilot without a thorough knowledge of how this has changed, what is he/she supposed to do other than choose the "best" regional? There is no reason that pilot should be so vilified and disrespected. They were not the one that gave up scope, they are just trying to become the respected airline pilot they want to be by the current means possible.

What do those lines typically credit at on average?

You had said "gate agents, managers, mainline flight attendants, you name it"

Those people don't particularly follow our TA contract drama. So it must be something else.

I'm listening...

A clean uniform and not wearing a backpack off the shoulder would go a long way. That said, as someone who always looked professional and felt like I treated everyone around me kindly, I was pretty tired of gate agents TELLING me that they are boarding the plane, getting mad at me personally for mx issues, mainline FAs saying, "Oh, who's that airline? You're just on those little ones?"

Etc etc.

I do agree, however, that some of us need to have personal pride before we expect it to be handed to us.

If you want an example of reasonless mainline disrespect of regional pilots, how about this.

I go to the gate to get out to the airplane and notice the board says the flight changed gates to the counter 15 ft away, both gates lead to the same exit.

Gate agent at the counter says "I'm not Horizon, I am Alaska. You need to go find someone from Horizon to let you through."
