I doubt things will get better. I think XJT (ERJ) is still much more expensive than other operators so they can't compete. Skywest isn't going to bid on flying they can't make money on so we will see XJT wither away over the next few years. Just my opinion and I hope for the sake of my good friends still over there that I'm wrong.

It's hard to be positive as a 7 year FO. I was a one of them but luckily got to upgrade. Your friend probably won't upgrade and that has to be hard to swallow. Also your friend may not know (or care at this point) how good he has it concerning total compensation, health care, and 401K compared to his peers. He probably remembers the good days with Continental and has been **** on by United for a long time. It sucks that he's so bitter but I can't blame him

No, it's great that RAH is improving. The regional industry is rigged by the legacies and they want pilots to think they will go bankrupt if they don't stay in the ever constricting piggy bank they set up for their regional flying. I don't believe thats the case at all. A real union could break this trend, but unfortunately ALPA is actively making it worse.

"apparently rjet is closing a lot of bases"? over what period? which ones? when did it happen?
Just going off what a CA I flew with recently told me about Rjet and what I have heard from friends that worked there. I know of no other way of knowing what it is like at other carriers than by talking to pilots that fly there and comparing it to what I know. I hope this new TA really helps RAH pilots, because they have been dumped on for too long.

I'd like to know if the TA is an improvement in QOL compared to the previous contract. The ex RAH CA was telling me that it wasn't, and that's really hard for me to believe considering how bad it sounded over there. Can some of the RAH guys currently there comment on if QOL has improved with this new TA? Or is it just increased compensation?

I live in Pittsburgh and now, with a new contract, and with increased pay among other things, taking a second look at republic. No calls from the majors so my thinking is that getting some 121 time could help my resume.

I have read the republic threads and how management has some real problems. I have more than 2000 hours turbine PIC time so the upgrade is not my first goal. Looking for better quality of life with some type of schedule and getting some 121 experience on my resume.

So what are your thoughts especially from current republic pilots. Is pit junior? Is the 170/175 possible for new hires? What is realistic take home pay for the first year? Days off? Health insurance for my wife, son and I? Probably is a step back for me. 5100 tt but trying to get a call from a major and better quality of life. I should also state that republic wouldn't be my first choice because I hear commuting is terrible. This is why i am giving them a second look. Thoughts?

Hey man, I recently interviewed at RAH and accepted the job offer. PIT is your out of training and it has almost no-reserve time. I am currently working on a 135 flying two different jets for them. I am on call as well and sometimes I get the hard days off without evening knowing about it or when I am away from base. I can't wait to get out!
New contract is what made me interview with RAH and the number of people who interviewed and accepted the job is what made me feel comfortable to resign from my current company. I interview the 11/23 we were 25... Almost all of us got the job and accepted it. I asked for the earliest class date... They were all full till 01/26/16.
So they are finally getting some pilots back and hopefully they will get stronger soon. Please contact me if you have any questions.

My understanding is that there are haters for any regional... like I am an hater for 135.
I had/they had bad experiences and I/they will share only negative experiences.

Alex

So you haven't even started class yet and you know all the ins and outs of working for RAH and Bedford?

Got it.

Please forgive me, but where do you see crucial informations on my post? Please look at The stock of RAH and you will see a slightly increase sign of a recover as well as an estimated recover to $7.8
Please feel free to quote anything that sounds so particular or not right to you.
Regarding the recover, besides the stock outgoing I think I said I had the feeling that a company is recovering looking at pilot being hired and class being full.
Do you work at RAH? if you do so good for you, and I hope to see you soon.

I'm sorry I hurt your feeling by sharing my interview experience and sharing my "understanding" of the situation.

Alex

I know how nice it is to have real numbers so here you go. Realistically you are looking at 12 guaranteed days off at first on reserve.
Min hours 75x$40= $3,000
14 solid days of per diem 336 hours x$1.95= $655
Family insurance depends on benefit level (for me= $190/month)
Making around $3465/month before taxes year one plus whatever the bonus is now. (If we still have one)

The good/bad news is that reserves are used and abused everyday so you will most likely get more than the 75 hours a month. Line holders get around 83 hours a month.

Hope this helps.
