Moving from S5 to C5 Opinion

Ive been at Shuttle (S5) for a year and a half now, with the uncertainty of the future, talk of bankruptcy, no upgrade in sight and company consolidation, Ive been considering a move over to C5. Commutair offers comparable pay and what appears to be an upgrade in a year or less? Any advice or opinions on this idea..?

1st I wouldn't have accepted an offer at Republic, you should have done your research.
2nd, if you're asking this question on a forum, it appears you already have your answer. No reason to get the blessing of others.

Good luck.

What is it with users on here wasting energy by typing out a response that is of zero help to anyone??? Do you just look for ways to waste other people's time?

To the OP, where do you live or want to live? That should be the main question you ask yourself at first, and nothing else really matters until you get that part figured out.

Hey, clown, what is it with users wasting bytes, time and effort asking a question they know ia full of opinions or one they already know the answer to?

Don't know your experience or time but have you considered first applying to an LCC ? If you are going to make a jump might be worth a shot.

Personally, C5 scares me a little bit. To go from a 100% prop operator to bringing on old 145s worries me. Stay the course, and like the post above, look at LLCs or majors. They've hired FOs that don't have PIC time. What's the harm?

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Those FO's range from 5-9 years in and had great resumes (former intern, GPA 3.5+, advanced degree, narrow body type, etc.) I have no idea what the OP's background is, but C5 presents a great opportunity with a structured path. Especially with the OP's time, he could upgrade relatively fast and get a good size bonus check. I would do it, especially if you were already commuting.
